Hey fellow ninjas

I’ve been in this for way too long, it’s about time i gear up and get this done. REG as is has been my beast- the new exam has been a struggle. This is my first official post on here and I appreciate any input on REG retake esp the sims. I lost credit this window because i did terrible on REG. I studied for 3 months using becker-info” title=”Forum – Becker Post” class=”pretty-link-keyword” target=”_blank”>Becker and was shocked to see the lowest score i ever received- def was not expecting that. I’ve been weaker in sims and feel defeated by the new exam as i tend to run out of time on them.

I am retaking REG next month, currently using becker final review (becker has expired) and bought ninja to supplement. For those who passed REG, is this enough practice for SIMS? have ninja sims helped anyone? how did you guys manage to study for the new format? Any suggestions on the retake strategy and passing reg is highly appreciated.

I totally understand your frustration as i also failed for the first time with 66. In my second time around, I practiced lot of MC Questions, particularly for the sections that is heavily tested which is tax portion(individual, corporation, s corporation, partnership etc). I used Roger and practiced sims on above mentioned topics multiple times. For MCQ, i used Ninja and do not get afraid to tackle the difficult areas even if do not get right all the time. Also looking at AICPA blue print and practicing sims related to those areas would be good. Even though i barely passed the exam(77), i was so thankful that i practiced sims as i got one sim exactly in exam exactly like in practice. I would suggest you to look at AICPA blue print and use those as reference point to practice sims. I believe practicing sims equally important like MCQs.

@FizBlizz I received a 74 on REG. After so much scrafice it broke me. I gave up for few months & retested in Aug. I tested like it was a whole new test & threw out the “I only need 1 point” mentality.
I did all MCQ twice. Did all SIMS twice & rewrote notes lots. In last 2 rewrote all sections again. Put audio on constant loop daily.
I studied from July to Aug test date. (2 & half months).
My notes were the NINJA w Becker notes added in the margins.
Retested @ 81! I hate REG even in school & had to get past mental block. I also explained difficult tax stuff to my husband. He did not understand but it helped to speak it out loud.
