I am currently studying for my REG retake, shooting for a 5/15 test date and have been studying since 3/27.

Currently I am on Ch 5 of Becker 2017 & Ninja MCQ/AUD , I took the last version of the 2016 test on 3/9 and have recently found out they removed various topics that I was not good with on my first exam.

Is anyone still going through the topics that are no longer being tested? Or ignoring them?

AUD – 70 , 75
REG – 73 , 5/?

This is f***ing pissing me off. So all these areas were removed from the REG exam? I thought it was only negotiable instruments and title transfers. Up until last week, Another 71 only mentioned that the new REG exam was going to drop Dodd-Frank and that was it.

Now I am reading that all these areas including agency formation/termination and third-party assignments have been eliminated?

In total, I have wasted the entire past f***ing month apparently studying for nothing. I was relying on this site and my e-mail subscription to notify us with up to date information.

Bad decision. A big serious WTF to NINJA CPA Review.

Each link from a CPA review provider has more and more topics removed for REG. I am with @BrickellCPA with not knowing what topics to study or disregard with the NINJA products (MCQ, Notes & Audio).

Would like some clarification before I head into my test if possible.

AICPA Blueprints

It includes topics that Becker designates as eliminated.

Becker says AICPA removed Agency from Business law but Blueprint mentioned Agency. WHat's going on?

I used the Wiley test bank. They have a 2017 version test bank with significantly less MCQs and simulations than the old version of the test bank. Can anyone confidently say that this new version will be easier?

Hi Jeff, you acknowledged my concerns in a previous thread about this. I think you responded in the “Ask Jeff” sticky thread with an excel spreadsheet with all the up to date topics. The above post was made weeks ago, but you have addressed my concerns since then so I appreciate it.

With a topic added or taken away from the exam and their inter-connectedness, this is akin to having a teaspoon of water removed from the ocean. Better learn to swim anyway and fight off sharks.

If you really “wasted” an entire month on such a small section of REG, the problem is not Jeff my friend. It's you. Fix your study habits and handle your problems like an adult.

My study methodology includes going straight down the list and completing every single MCQ of each section before moving on to the next. Probably not quite a month, but a substantial amount of time wasted on removed topics. Without knowing exactly which topics were definitively going to be removed or not, I could spend hours/days wasted on studying another 100+ MCQ section that won't even be tested. That is scarce time that could have been well spent on other matters.

And you have a lobster as an avatar. A big serious WTF to that!
