Full time job, full time family. Only have 4 weeks, failure is NOT an option.

I don’t have a gameplan yet but for some reason I have confidence that I’m gonna do it.

Thank the Maker I’m in tax so it won’t be all new.

I’m going to take advantage of my 30 minute commute (one way), 1 hour lunch break, and then the mornings and nights. Weekends obviously went bye bye.

Any TIPS please and thank you?

    Time to SuckItUp!

    Thanks!

    Hi @SuckItUp!

I am in the same boat! I have REG on 12/8, so really, it's 3.5 weeks. Full time (50-60 hrs) job and a full time family.

Are you just starting to study? I don't have any tips other than make a plan and stick to it.

At this point it is do or die! I started studying 2 weeks ago and I use Becker. I normally plan for 1 chapter a week and 2 weeks for a review. I am on 3-4 hours of sleep. I get up at 5 am and study for half an hour before the family gets and then from 9 pm to 1 am. I have ADD so I am very scattered and waste a ton of time. An average person would probably need half the time I need.

I listen to lectures on my 30-40 minute commute to and from work and try to do at least 10 MCQs at work while I am eating my lunch at my desk; and I even manage to study in the bathroom! You do what you have to do! 😉

Good luck and keep us posted!

    Yep, just starting.

I also have Becker. I'm not going to watch the lectures, I learn more by taking notes.

I'll study during my lunch and then if I can try to study an hour or so at work. Luckily I have the Th and Fr off for Thanksgiving. It's going to be an eat and run for me.

I might even take a couple days off if I need to. Have to pass this and then BEC in Jan and then I'm DONE.

BTW, it is definitely “do or die.”

I took AUD and BEC watching videos, then re-reading all of the chaprters, then doing MCQs, then reading all of the chapters again and doing progress tests. A definite waste of time but I still can't figure out how to learn best. I simply do not retain any information. I am paranoid to skip any of videos, I am afraid I will miss something if I do! I used to be a good student, but it was a long time ago! 😉

I have to pass REG now and am scheduling FAR for 3/10 March. I am giving myself 12-13 weeks for FAR and it makes me nervous. If I fail REG I can study on and off in December and retake it on 1/5/17. I would still have enough time for FAR. I forgot about 2 extra full days around Thanksgiving! That would be helpful!

    When is your BEC?

@Sticky Nicky, I think it's definitely doable if you are organized and self-motivated. Instead of studying I am wasting my time on Another71! Don't be like me! LOL!

I think that recommended hours are 120 so 5 hours a day (less if you have a great memory).

I haven't set a test date for BEC as I'm waiting for my NTS. I would think the 2nd or 3rd week in Jan.

I can't wait for the middle of April!!!!!!!!

One go round at videos this time around. I listened to all of the Chapter 4 in the car, otherwise Tim G. is putting me to sleep!

I am trending 60-65 on MCQs the first time around, it's terrible! There is a lot of information to cover. And Chapter 3 HW starts of with 156 MCQs, chapter 4 are 100+ for the first two sections. I can't stay focused for this long.

But we will get it done! Each one of us at our own pace, using our own methods. We will get it done!

What is happening in the middle of April? Score release? 🙂 I am throwing a huge party and getting on a wait list for a liver transplant. 😉

My goal is to be done before all of the changes kick in. I am pretty sure Becker will update materials but I think we only have 12 months since the purchase date (or download date if later).

@ninjacpa_hck You never know what is going to pop up on your test and every point is precious so am planning on covering everything. Listen to all of the audio and do all of the HW MCQs.

I absolutely have to cover 2 chapters a week and leave 1.5 weeks for a review – that's when everything really starts to come together for me. I am half way through the material but I skipped SIMS for now. I am going to get back to them during my review.

What study program do you use? Becker chapter 1-4 HW are mostly computational so the homework takes forever. I am hoping that 5-8 will go faster. Although everyone is saying that the test is not heavy on computational MCQ they really do help solidify the concepts.
