REG: have to know AGI phase-out specifics for exam?

    (As seen in MCQ review) Questions regarding specific phase-outs such as: child tax credit: $50 reduction in credit per $1000 over AGI threshold—- ummmm excepted to remember every single phase-out criterion? Awesome

    That's what I thought..per Becker instructions. — yet seeing review questions requiring to calculate specific amounts applying phase-out rules .. My face -_______-

    For phase outs you just need to know which stuff has it (deductions/credits/etc) and which stuff doesn't.

    There are very few dollar amounts to you have to memorize to begin with anyway and most of it relates to income, not the rest.

    I don't think you need to know specific phase outs, just if they are “rich” or “poor” for the most part. I.e. if they make like $160,000, know that they probably don't qualify for deductions.

    Also maybe remember the mom and pop deduction of $25,000.

    i'd remember what do and don't have phaseouts. certain ones are important that should come up in your MCQ more frequently. you never really know with this exam. we aren't dealing with fair people here haha (help).
