REG got me again yesterday

Well, I did all MCQ in Becker, bought Ninja MCQ and did around 30% of those MCQ and I was trending around a 70 but once I got to the exam, it was as if I had migically forgotten everything and man were 2 of the SIMS completely out of left field. I managed to find both research questions, one of them in the last 15 seconds of the exam.

I didn’t feel the MCQ necessarily got to much harder as I progressed but I can never be a good judge on that as I still found the entire exam to be difficult. Just real annoyed that I walked into the exam feeling confident and for some reason I feel as if I completely blanked on certain concepts I was consistently scoring well on for a few days prior to the exam. I praying for a passing grade but I was really banking on passing this one this time around but I wouldn’t be putting money on myself lol

REG and FAR just seem to be impossible for me to pass. Ill be on my 4th attempt with FAR and if REG didn;t go well, I’ll have to go for a 3rd time and worst of all, I will lose AUD in September so my window is closing. I just don’t know what else to do as I’ve exhausted most options in passing this insanely frustrating exams. Sorry for the vent but I can’t keep venting to my family/friends as they don’t get it and they’re even getting annoyed that I haven’t passed which is also not helping…..

    AUD: (65)(66) 77
REG: (66) (48) destroyed me mentally.....
    FAR: (68) (66)(69)(71)
    BEC: (63) 75

No point in stressing about it now. Just wait till the scores are released. You never know.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

JustanotherCandidate, I hope you will get positive result come release date. As EuroAddict mentioned nothing can be done now you tried your best and just hope for the best. Totally get how you're feeling. These exams are stressful and frustrating and non CPA candidates won't understand. I failed AUD in Feb and my family told me to QUIT if I can't pass FAR this time. I get so annoyed and have no one to talk to except HERE where others understand quitting isn't the solution. I see so many others keep pushing despite failing. I did have that thought crossed my mind before but I will not back done. Good Luck with your remaining sections!

How many MCQ did you actually do ? How long did you study for ? Do you have kids or something pulling your attention away from completely focusing on this?
I ask because I struggled with these , i have two young kids, wife and work insane hours. These are behind me now , but I had to push extremely hard and sat at a coffee shop every day for almost 2 years.

Other people outside looking in really do not understand the difficulty or the sacrifice involved in these exams. We are all too close and have way too much invested to quit. The good news is- I totally thought I failed Reg and I made an 82. There is still hope. Don’t beat yourself up because you are wasting energy. Just keep moving forward and good luck! Perseverance and tenacity will pay off. 😉

I keep telling myself that it will all be over soon as I will not consider giving up as I'm so close.
@6silver no I do not have children but my gf moved in a little over a month ago and this is quite the adjustment. She also grew up with absolutely nothing so the money that I'm taking home and with hers, seems like it is a lot but after the mortgage and bills, there isn't much left. I guess my point is that when I bring up how much more money I could potentially make with this designation doesn't seem worth it to her since we already make a decent living.

Additionally, I'll have a german shepherd puppy coming in 2 weeks. I grew up with dogs so I know how much work they require and well she hasn't so I know the majority of the training, walking, and daily responsibilities for the dog will be on me, which will take much time needed away from my FAR studies as I sit for FAR on May 12.

Guess I'll just be listening to Jeff that much more now, when I take the pup on walks and get up at 3am to take her out when she has to do her business. Will definitely be difficult to turn away from a puppy but I need this. I won't stop now, I've been doing this for over 2 years and I will not throw it all away when I'm so close.

After a few years working, i can see the difference it makes to have it , or not. Now that I have it, I see so many more differences, it is hard to describe. It really sets you apart. This is not something you get with a promotion or a gift someone gives you. This is a major investment in yourself and gives you a lot of flexibility.

Yes, you are correct 6Silver, that is pretty much the only reason I'm putting myself through this.

You need to shut people out. I'm personally going through some issues with family too and I literally have to SHUT them out. Keep your eyes on the prize. Your GF will understand if you say it's important to you. You CAN pass and you WILL pass.

I don't know your study habits, but I do believe that you may need a change of pace. Obtaining FAR 3 times with roughly the same score may indicate that you're either memorizing the answers or you're not truly understanding the material. I've only been studying for 3 tests. But I can absolutely say that once I MADE myself UNDERSTAND FAR, it became a lot easier. I won't ever understand intercompany transactions and sales (but that's okay. I didn't even get a question on that on my test). But you know enough of the material, I would literally attack every SIM you get when you start studying again. So much points are lost in this section because people don't practice. I dread it too but I get even HAPPIER when I get something right on it. SIMs really force you to take what you learn and APPLY it.

    Good luck.

Also, @Spartans92, don't give up. Even with the exam changes. However, I'm lurking the forums and it seems that you have got FAR down. So good luck.

@justanothercandidate How long has it been since you took FAR? Are you sticking with it or switching between subjects? I would suggest sticking with each one until you pass that section, then moving on to the other one.

@6silvermoonbeams I am with you buddy. I'm going through the same meat grinder with work, family, and exams. Almost there. And I'm definitely sick of sitting in this Starbucks. I think I have a reserved table by default.
