I’ve failed Reg 3 times already and now have one more shot before my Far expires. I started studying again yesterday using NINJA Book and MCQ. I’m shooting to schedule my exam toward the end of April. Is that too much time? I already have a strong base of knowledge with the material being I’ve taken the test 3 times, but don’t wanna rush taking it again since it’s my last shot. Any thoughts?

I used Becker for my first attempt at REG in 2011 and then again when I failed in October. Then for my January retake I used Roger Cram and Ninja MCQ and bumped my score by 21 points. I studied about a month this last time. I'm the same as you- I passed the other three sections with Becker, and it just didn't click for REG. I'd definitely recommend Roger Cram and Ninja MCQ.

To the OP – it depends. If you think that you are failing because there are several topics you just don't understand then more time could be what you need in order to bridge the gap. If it were me, I would schedule it sooner. That's too much time and could allow you to forget things or put off studying because you have so much time to play with. I had no problem with REG, but I'm also in tax. If you aren't a tax person, I'd recommend looking at the actual forms so you see how the schedules tie to the forms, and get a big picture of how things are reported. Good luck. With so many people talking about Roger's cram session, I may have to look into getting that for FAR. I'm using his regular program and I think he does a very good job at preparing me for the exams (at least the 3 I've taken thus far).

I actually got the portable one at first, but it didn't work. They gave me free access to the online version and it ended up being great.

I think its just the Sims that have been killing me the past 3 times. And the reason I've been thinking about scheduling it late April is becasue its my last shot and i don't want to rush it like i did my previous 2 retakes where i studied for about a month and then retook it.

How much does Roger cram cost? Looks like i have to pay a 1000 bucks for my REG retake. Im an international candidate and I have to pay 650usd for the retake plus roger cram plus ninja mcq renewal. Phew! ROI should be a lot bigger than this last(hopefully) thousand bucks

    FAR (Apr 2015) - 88
    AUD (July 2015) - 86
    BEC (Oct 2015) - 82
    REG - 73, 70, retake Sept 2016

i don't know about international costs, but $1,000 seem alittle steep. check out the prices again before spending any money. I know for sure ninja mcq's are NOT that much. 650 for a retake sounds like you are signing up for two parts not one. Again, check those prices before you spend. These are us dollars.

I wanna say Roger cram was $250 but you'll need a test bank for Ninja MCQ. I also did the online version… I needed it ASAP and they shipped me the book but for my learning style, I didn't need the book because I learn best by taking my own notes. He provided the book online next to the lectures so if I needed to write a definition from the book on my notes, I could see it there.

Look for a code online! Or give them a call, they might give you a small discount if you can show you've been unsuccessful with another product.

If there are certain topics you're struggling with, look to see if he has a free YouTube video going over the topic. I did this for FAR and Bonds and that I what sold me. I would recommend checking out his YouTube videos anyway because some people can't handle the way he slurps his soda can during the lecture, etc.

@tcincy – yes it is. 324 domestic fees (174+150) and another 327 to test internationally. Still a lot cheaper than flying to the States to take the test but still very expensive for me.

I have NINJA book, notes & mcq though but I wanted to add Roger cram

For those who have done the Rogers Cram, how long befoe your exam did you start the cram course?

I want to say its 9 hours of lecture so it could be done in 2 weeks but because of your situation (and depending when on you actually sit), you probably don't want to cram it into 2 weeks. Give yourself plenty of time to get through the material and hit those MCQs.

What's wrong with the Ninja book? I may be in the minority, but I think the cram courses are a waste of time. I tried Yaegar cram for AUD and all he did was flip through the Wiley book and casually talk about a few topics. Going over MCQs during a lecture always seemed useless to me as well, as you do that when you go through MCQ on your own…

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

Becker wasn't too bad, business law was so awesome actually.

Study IRC! This was the recommendation of a guy who got 99 on it. I'd say you need to study the IRC for what needs to be reported as income & liability at the least. At the bear minimum, read all IRC codes Ninja SIMS have.

    Licensed CPA since Apr 16

    FAR-71,71,79
    BEC-80
    REG-72,77
AUD-56,72,72,72,80! Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord!
FAR/BEC/AUD: Becker & Yaeger lectures (Wiley & Ninja MCQs). REG: Becker lectures (Ninja MCQs).
