Hey comrade, I just need a quick advice on picking the order of these two sections. I am trying to schedule these two exams in Q3 test window. Ideally, I would take one in July and another one in August.

I have to admit that English is not my first language. But at least, I can read well. Considering REG has tons of material to memorize, I decided to spend the whole June to study REG.

Currently I don’t either work nor go to school. Besides of the studying efficiency, I can have a study time of 50 hours per week. However, I realized that the review material of FAR has the most pages. So I am concerned I cannot conquer FAR in a month. Can you guys tell me how long do you spend on REG and FAR to pass?

    REG 7/15
    FAR 8/18

I took REG first, but in hindsight wish I took FAR.. FAR is a lot of material, I think I studied for it for 12 weeks give or take. Still waiting on my grade. No way could I have done FAR in a month. REG would also be tough in a month also I think. I think I did 8 weeks for REG and felt well prepared and passed easily.

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
    Reg / Nov 2015 - 87
    Far / Apr 2016 - 79
    Bec / May 2016 - 80
    Aud / Aug 2016

I think you should take REG first. I took FAR last, and I'm glad I did. It's been a while since grad school, so it took me about 2 weeks to get into a good study routine. I think had I started out with FAR, it would have been easy to get overwhelmed with all of the material. It's great that you are not working nor going to school so you can concentrate solely on studying. I work full time and spent 6 weeks on REG (10 to 15 hrs per week). I'm also in tax, so I was able to bypass about half of the lecture materials. By the grace of God, I knocked out FAR in 3 weeks. I estimate I studied about 80-90 hours. By the time I got to FAR, I was so ready to be done that I decided to be very aggressive. 3 weeks may not be doable for you, but I'd caution you against giving yourself too long of a period to study. The longer you study, the longer you are going to have to spend reviewing earlier material. Good luck!

    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

@jdn9201, could you share a little more about your background? Are you working as a tax accountant?

I did REG first, but I think FAR is foundational to all the other subject so hit the FAR first.

    REG - PASSED(75)
    FAR - PASSED(85)
    AUD - PASSED(83)
    BEC - PASSED(82)
