learn from MCQ answer explanations and take notes/make flashcards?

–it seems like reading almost 200 pages (Becker) would be a waste from what I hear on this forum (considering its only 15% ish of test?)

    hmmmmm

Have you taken REG before? If so, I'd say you've already had enough exposure to Business Law. 2nd time around, I didn't even touch that end of the book and still passed. The questions on the exam are either super easy or super confusing to the point that even if I really studied/memorized biz law, I'd still be making a subjective guess. I was willing to roll the dice. Some people aren't and if it is your first time and you haven't taken a biz law course or it's been some time since you have, it may be worth it to read through the material (but you could probably get away with skipping the lectures :p).

nope haven't taken REG yet (dreading that day in Oct) — I had a b-law course a couple years back in undergrad lolol. I kind of want to bank on learning from MCQ answers–short, sweet, and important info…

Yeah do the MCQ's, get a feel for the questions and then put it to rest. Some people will get their panties in a bunch about not fully getting through all the business law material, but honestly, I haven't heard of that being the make it or break it on this exam.

The true make it or break it is tax. And if someone spends more time on business law than tax, they aren't going to get a very nice score. In my experience, I've seen a handful of MCQ biz law questions on the whole exam… but of course all exams are different! 😉

I think your approach seems adequate for the first and hopefully only time battling this one. Good luck!

Well Bus Law is 50% of the course (in Roger anyway) and 15-20% of the test.

The biggest problem with tax law is there are so many minitue details, exceptions, doesn't apply, etc that freaking can change the answer. I would have to say bus law isn't that important and studying tax indepth is the way to go and since Individual tax is the foundation and flows through a lot of the other ones (S corp, partners, etc) know that like the back of your hand (not the credits and stuff but things related to Income like AGI, Itemized deductions, etc).

That being said don't be surprised if you still don't get it right know matter how many times you study it- I went over it 3 times because that chapter seemed the most brutal. I'm glad I spent as much time on tax as I did but now I wish I spent MORE.
