so I’ve been prepping of for this exam for the last 4 1/2 months, and yet i know it well but not as well as i should.

Ive noticed that most people on this forum are able to prep for the exam(or any exam in that matter) within a 2-3 month window. With a full time job(working nearly 50hr wks),even though i read the material for 2 hrs a day and review on my weekends, i just recently felt comfortable with the material to take the exam this week.

Is something wrong with my game planning?

I was lucky to pass FAR on my first try, but after REG i want to be able to knock out AUD and BEC at a much faster rate

    FAR - 80
    REG - PENDING
    AUD- PENDING
    BUS - PENDING

I had 3 weeks off during christmas and new years, with maybe 4-5 days of christmas related stuff that I could not get out of. I studied the CPAExcel course everyday. The federal taxation stuff had to be most time consuming at first, but I was taking it slow because I wanted to understand everything. Now that I am back at work I am doing maybe 100-150~ questions a night, this past weekend I did around 500 questions. Again not as fast as some but I have made the mistake of memorizing the questions in the past and I don't want to do that.

I think 4.5 is generous but understandable if you work full time etc. My thing is that I seem to be way way more productive on a close deadline, so I am pushing myself to take the exam this Sunday. I schedule the exam and start studying knowing I have no other option. If you want results you have to add pressure. AUD and BEC should go a little smoother considering you have some auditing experience.

    FAR - 78*
    AUD - 66, 79
    REG - 73, 76
    BEC - 79

study at your own pace- some people on this forum study freakishly fast-dont compare. i am hoping to knock REG Out in 3 weeks because ive worked in tax for 10 years. FAR is going to take me 3 months on the other hand i bet.

try not to compare yourself to others (hard to do on this forum i know with all these signatures!)

but 4.5 mos x 4 exams = 18months so you are also cutting close to expired credit, mind that.

actually it's 3 in 18 months. I passed FAR in august, so it's 18 for myself to pass the next 3 sections.

    FAR - 80
    REG - PENDING
    AUD- PENDING
    BUS - PENDING

I have only been studying for REG for a month and will be taking it on Monday. BEC follows shortly on 2/27 at which point I will immediately start studying for FAR which is scheduled for 4/11.

Its been rough, but I have essentially neglected all responsibilities in my life besides work. I work, sleep (sometimes), and study. Once you factor those things assuming a sleep 5 hours per night plus my commuting times I have about 38 hours of free time per week to do things like feed myself, shower, grocery shop, and spend time with my fiance.

    REG - 94 (2/1/2016)
    BEC - 88 (2/27/2016)
    FAR - 86 (5/7/2016)
    AUD - 89 (5/31/2016)

Meh… I just want it all to be over. I have been putting this off for years and need to get it off my plate. It sucks, I'm exhausted. and I don't remember what fun is anymore but I have a vacation planned for June so that's my biggest motivation to get it done. I want to be able to go and relax and not think about any of this any more.
