Ready to take AUD, but still 9 days out

I feel extremely confident and totally ready to crush AUD, but I still have 9 days left. Such a frustrating feeling. I just want this over and done forever. I guess I’ll still hammer out 150 MCQs a day and keep re-reading Ninja Notes though.

I have only felt this way before with BEC, where I was totally ready to go with over a week remaining until exam date.

Oh well. I guess if you pass, there is no such thing as overstudying. šŸ™‚

That's good to hear! Keep up the hard work Bear-Bear.

I have a question for you though… are you memorizing the different reports verbatim? Or are you going with the general understanding of concepts and whats needed for them?

    BEC-80-1X
    FAR-73-1X
    FAR-75-2X

I'm on the same boat. I am ready to spill out all the AUD material I have in my head lol. Still 11 days to go.

For those who passed, how did you go about preparing for AUD during the last days?

    BEC - July 2016 → 78
    AUD - Sep 2016
    REG - Nov 2016
    FAR - Feb 2017

and how did you attack the ninja mcq? I've been going through the regular ‘adaptive learning' phase but I'm only at 75% through. I remember you mentioning that your completely through it.

My test is in 12 days. Any recommendations/advice from your experience the last couple weeks?

@Dab – I have a printout of the unmodified which I've re-read a few times (and am pretty darn close to memorizing) but other than that it's a general understanding.

    Did you pass BEC?

I felt this way with my last two exams REG and BEC and the last week before my exam I started slacking and wasn't studying as much because I felt like I knew everything and didn't need to study anymore. But at the same time I was freaking out because I knew I wasn't studying that many hours and felt like I didn't know anything! Luckily, I ended up passing both (80,82).

I would suggest you continue to do random MCQs, practice NINJA notes and make flashcards! Flashcards were the worst for me because I “knew everything” but I found them very helpful. I also didn't write all the NINJA notes, just what I didn't know, but I would still read everything during those last few days.

@vannessa_ls – I did indeed. šŸ™‚ Thanks for the advice…flashcards couldn't hurt. And I'm gonna do every day: 90 random Ninja MCQs, 60 Wiley Test Bank MCQs, and 10 SIMS.

Congrats on BEC! So, for AUD I only practiced a few sims…I would maybe only do one or two a day. I never found Sims that helpful, but if you will feel comfortable and think it's helpful to do sims then do them!

I would recommend though that you look everything up on the AL in the actual. Even if you are 100% sure that's the right answer look it up! What I did was go through each one once and answered to the best of my ability and did look up some stuff on the AL, but didn't take too long. Then, I went back through it a second time and looked up everything! But you do need to give yourself enough time for that.

@vannessa_ls – It's funny you mention that about SIMS…for all of the other three sections, I've adhered strictly to a “no wasting time on SIMS” policy. But it's only sheer paranoia about this being my last section that is leading me to do any at all. I still believe that one can't really study for sims.

That's a good point about the AL. I have rarely used it beyond the research sims. I was planning on leaving 2 hours for the sims (assuming the MCQs don't whoop me too bad)…do you think that's sufficient?

AUD if 4 hours right? I honestly, don't remember because I took it last October, but I think that should be plenty of time. I've also always been a fast taker and finished each test with like an hour to spare (except BEC where I finished with only 3 minutes)

Take your time on MCQ though, especially on your first testlet. This is a tip my former manager gave me – since everyone's first testlet is medium you want to take your time to get the second testlet to be hard. Take your time on your last testlet too.

Thanks! The point about the first testlet is something that I've never considered before, but it's a darn good point. Yeah, AUD is 4 hours. I took FAR first so I've been spoiled by two 3 hour tests in a row. I'm a fast test taker too…I believe I had over an hour to spare on both FAR and REG. BEC took me until the last 20 minutes I believe because of the WCs.

bear… look over the aicpa released questions for syntax. exam questions and answers can be tricky. review the standards. know which ones there are and read a few for format and structure.

    FAR 7/25/15 76!
    AUD 10/30/15 93
    BEC 2/27/16 82
    REG 5/23/16 88!
Ninja Book and MCQ and the forum - all the way!!!
and a little thing i like to call, time and effort!
if you want things to change, you have to do something different
