    Hello future CPAs,

I have a quick questions about the exam. I barely passed my last part last quarter just before my first credit expiration date 10/30/17. Honestly, I’ve been on celebration mode since then and completely forgot about Ethics exam.

Do I have to take and pass Ethics exam in the next 4 days before my BEC expires? or can I take my time with it?

Also, is there a cheaper way to to take the Ethics part? I’m completely broke and currently unemployed at the moment…

Thank you all, and good luck to all of you. If I can pass the exam, everyone else can.

I would contact the Board of Examiners, but I'm pretty sure there's no rush on it. You just won't be certified until you pass the ethics exam. So, I mean, there's that. And no certificate means you can't get licensed.

As far as I know, there's not a cheaper way than paying the $169.00 to take the ethics exam, unless you have a membership to Illinois CPA or AICPA. Maybe someone else will have more info than that.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

@Jennifer is correct. You can take the Ethics exam anytime meaning before or after you passed all 4 parts regardless of the credit expiration. The credit expiration is only for the 4 part exam and does not include ethics.

With regards to your other question, unfortunately Illinois would only accept the AICPA Comprehensive Ethics so you would need to may be loan to get it over with as soon as possible so you can get certified and then licensed if you have already have qualified 1 year experience.

Thank you for your replies. It's assuring to know that I have some time left. I'd try to get a job first before finishing the Ethics exam, I'm really not in the condition for that nor I'm in the mood for.
