Question about the EWS award

Alright, so the EWS requires you to get above a 95.5 average on your first attempts on the four sections, right? I have two questions about this.

    1. If you paid for 4 exams but only took two during your current NTS, would the two you paid for but didn’t show up for count as your first attempt for EWS purposes? Or is it the first time you actually sit down in prometric and enter your launch codes?

    2. Secondly, if you take, let’s say 2 sections in the calendar year 2016 and the other 2 sections in Q1 2017, all else equal, would that take you out of the running for the EWS?

I realize that trying to pass this thing is the main concern, but am just curious about this.

    BEC- 94
    AUD- 8/9/16
    REG- 10/15/16
    FAR- 12/3/16

    This is my understanding:

    1. The only times that count are when you “sit down in prometric and enter your launch codes.”
    2. You have one year; this does not have to be a calendar year. Using your question and adding more details for clarity:
    a. Take first exam part 1/15/2016, take last exam part 1/10/2017: you are eligible.
    b. Take first exam part 1/15/2016, take the last exam part 1/20/2017: you are not eligible.
