Hi,

I’m taking FAR in 2 days. Is the whiteboard provide erasable?

When I took the GMAT, they provided you with laminated paper and a marker that you could not erase.

I was able to use my thumb and rub the marker off on mine, but I read a thread on here a few months ago where someone mentioned they got in trouble with the Prometric staff for erasing their board. I think you are supposed to raise your hand to ask for new ones if you run out of space.

If you email NASBA a couple weeks before your test you can request pencil and paper.

Agreed with AF- I'll add the caveat of making sure that the test center is aware of your request. I am sitting tomorrow for FAR and when I got the reminder, I was told there were no notes to have scratch paper and pencil, and that they would not veer from the norm of whiteboard and marker.

It was since resolved, but I would caution against requesting these things too soon or indirectly.

I've wiped off my board in all my tests without my testing center saying anything. But, yeah, people on here have said that their test centers tell them not to erase anything. :shrug:

Request the paper and pencil about 2 weeks out. I did that for FAR and REG and it was really nice to have. AUD and BEC I didn't use the board as much. When I got to Prometric, they almost forgot. When they got out the boards to give me I reminded them and they gave me the paper. It was no big deal.

I have never heard of the option to request a paper and pencil for the exam. Can anyone provide any links that shows this/is this dependent on your state board?

I requested paper and pencil for all 4 of my exams.
After a few close calls I started calling Prometric a week out from my exam to make sure they had received the request.
If you are diligent you will get what you want.

Paper and Pencil is where it's at if you have small hand writing.
