I am taking BEC on May 30th. Will i be able to sign up for another NTS before i find out my results on Aug 18th-20th. I am worried that if i find out that I fail on Aug. 20th that i will not be able to find on open test spot for the remaining 3rd Quarter since there will be only 20 days left in the window.

No. Not with a pending score.

that is completely unfair. I have to restudy the material not knowing if I passed for 2 and a half months and then if I find out that i fail, I may not even get a spot for the remaining 3rd Quarter.

I do not disagree but there is nothing you or I can do to change it.

NASBA issued my NTS within 5 business days last 2 times I requested over the past calendar year. Unfamiliar with your area/local test centers schedules/availability, but you might be able to sneak in there by Sept 10

FYI, Q3 testing window closes August 31st. That means those of us with credits expiring the end of August have only 13-14 days between Q2 score release and end of Q3 for retake.

Oh, that's great news. I had originally heard otherwise… Oh well, it still doesn't help me because my credit expires Aug 31st. 🙁

My audit expires 10/04 so I will be studying all summer for BEC and FAR while I wait for the score release. That way ready to retest if i need to right after I get the results. It's a short time frame but better than not getting a chance at all. Good luck to everyone!

@kmk2260 Depending on your state, I'd recommend getting whatever preliminary application stuff out of the way, so that once the scores come out, you only need to trigger the NTS. I'm talking with my non-CPAES state board about how far into the application process I can get without invalidating my credit. As I understand it, you can receive the ATT and payment coupon, and then hold off on paying until the scores are released, since in my case it's the payment that triggers the NTS.

    AUD: 81 (10/30/15)
    BEC: 80 (01/19/16)
    REG: XX (05/XX/16)
    FAR: XX (07/XX/16)

@affekerl thank you. I will have to look into how my state is handling this. It is annoying now that they pushed BEC score release to August 22nd. Now it is even less time to turn around a NTS and get into the 3rd qtr if I fail
