    Does anyone else get asked by the staff what exam number is this for you? Or how many more do you have left? I hate getting asked this in front of everybody because of my retakes of some sections.

    I've been asked way too much. By people at prometric, work meetings, family gatherings, etc. I ignore the retakes and tell them what section I'm working on relative to how many I've passed. (Ex. “this is my 3rd section” when really I've taken a total of 6 tests.) I feel like it's inconsiderate to ask those types of questions in front of others so I don't feel bad about not sharing all the details.

    They're just people like us, it's nice that they take an interest.
    Pretty sure they are not paid very well either.
    As with other things in life… if you're not comfortable with your numbers just lie.
    No harm, no foul.

    Some people pass everything in one shot and some don't. This is a test of discipline. You will have CPA after your name regardless of whether it took you 4 tries or 16. I understand how you feel though.

    BEC = 72 (6/08/16)
    FAR = ?
    REG = ?
    AUD = ?

    Every employee is different, but I think if they ask, they're just asking to break the silence by making small talk. I'm sure they're not asking questions to make you look inferior to other test takers.
    The ladies at my center were always super nice and calmed me down a bit before I went in – unfortunately I was there a few too many times and one of them greeted me by my first name once I walked in the door haha. I agree with the person above who suggests to say “this is my 3rd test.” Or you could say “if I pass this one, I only have one left.” No need to mention retakes if you're not comfortable.

    Most of them were really nice to me. There was one lady who was rude, but other than that I was very happy with their service.

    My favorite comment by a Prometric staff was on the day of my last two exams.

    I was in at about 8am to take REG and then took FAR in the same afternoon.

    When I finished REG and signed out, the guy didn't say anything. When I signed back in to take FAR, the guy looked at me like I had two heads but said nothing.

    When I finished FAR he says to me:

    “I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I hope I never see you again.”

    And he gave me a nod and a real firm handshake.

    That really took the edge off a long day.

    The staff where I go really don't talk about the test much at all. The only comments I've gotten related to the test at all (other the the rules and stuff) are like, “these test are long and hard, I feel bad for you guys”. I'm just like yea… hopefully it'll all be done soon.

    Never been asked any personal questions by Prometric staff. They've been really professional and nice. I'm sure I wouldn't like disclosing I've taken Far 4 times, it's embarrassing enough sharing it with friends/family/coworkers/forum.
