    Hi

I’m trying to register for FAR and the date I want to take it is available but only for 8 am. Based on experience, has any of you waited for another time slot and got it? I’m afraid if I wait I’ll lose the 8 am too.

I’m in NC by the way.

    Thanks

I would say it depends how far out you are trying to schedule your exam. If you are willing to pay $35 for a rescheduling fee, I would go ahead and register for the 8am time for now and then possibly reschedule for a later time in the future.

Just check everyday to see if anyone cancelled their exam. Most people cancel/reschedule their exams 5 days before the exam date (since it's the last day you can cancel/reschedule and only pay a $35 fee). So that day may be your best bet to check.

I personally had the same issue but the other way around (I wanted to take an exam on a specific day and the test center only had a 12:30 appointment. I personally prefer the 8am or 9am exams and so I reserved my seat for the 12:30 exam and then just kept checking everyday to see if any new slots opened for 8am. I ultimately found a seat like 6 days before the exam and rescheduled after paying the $35 fee.

@steven k did you know that you can go in earlier then your appointment and pro metric may let you start the test earlier then scheduled. My appointment time for FAR was 2:30. I went in around 10 am and they let me start taking it early.

I guess this could be different depending on the center but just wanted to point this out.
