If they say no, then I wouldn't chance it. They may not let you take the test if they think you are not cooperating with the rules. and it's on the the NTS.

    It begins with a 75

Yes..they don't even give you paper to write on so what the point of trying to smuggle a pen in?

All they will give you is makers and a 2 sheets of lamented paper to write on.

YOU WILL TAKE THEIR CRAPPY GERM-RIDDEN PENS AND YOU WILL LIKE IT!!!!

I test the markers on the board (in view of the administrator) before I go into the room. Last time, I refused one that was mashed to hell and got a brand new one.

AND…I wasn't thrilled that the administrator *insisted* on writing my access number on the board for me; that never happened at my old testing center.

They make you pull all your pockets out, inspect your glasses, and they go over you with a metal detector. When I tested last week, a lady took her ponytail holder out of her hair and they made her put it back in because you cannot have loose items in the testing room. Pretty sure they're serious. 🙂

Check the tips of the markers they give you to make sure they're fine point. I got a broad tip marker once and couldn't read anything I wrote on the scratch board.

I'm left handed and every time I write on the laminate paper it smears all over my hand and gets on the desk lol. Luckily I don't write much down on them to begin with.

@RE2PECT – I definitely feel you in the left handed issue lol.

Also guys check and see if they will allow you to chew a piece of gum.
The rules said no but when I asked them my past two exams, they were cool with it. If you didn't know gum really helps with nerves and IMO better thinking. In any case for the gum chewers out there your welcome……

I liked the pencil and scratch paler soo much more. It's like you always have to ask for a fresh marker every testlet. They like to play mind tricks on us I swear.

Also don't forget to ask for ear plugs if your like me and the regular gross ass community ear wax headphones they provide hurt after 3 minutes. My head is also gigantic so that may be a seperate issue entirely.

The simple things that can make you just a little more comfortable when testing make all the difference I swear.

Make sure you put the cap back on the marker after using it or it will dry out. First exam I took I kept forgetting and wasted time waiting for someone to bring me new markers.

@Snickets- My Prometric lets me use my own earplugs and bring gum into the testing room. I was so mad when I forgot to bring gum for my last exam. It does help with the stress.

Also, make sure you ask for a calculator. It's so much quicker than using the on screen one.
