My REG exam was supposed to be today at 12:30. I get a call at 9:00 AM TODAY that my Prometric is closing due to ‘weather’ (yet it is not even snowing). Has anyone had a similar experience? What do I do now? The Prometric customer service lines are closed because it is the weekend. I NEED to sit on a weekend day and really needed to be this weekend but guess not…

i cant believe this mine is closed too…its open today when most of the snow is supposed to be for me and closed tomorrow for some reason. the lady said that they will call me to reschedule but i am really pissed to say the least. i took this whole week off from work to take it this week and have been studying 10 hours a day up until now to cram everything in my head to take it sunday and now its closed…and I'm not even guaranteed to take it next weekend i think because that may be full. it also messes into my plan to take reg at the end of this quarter because i will have to unnecessarily add a week to audit study time and bite into a week of my reg time which i won't even be taking PTO for. this is pretty bad

Was supposed to take a section at 12:30 today. Prometric called me at 9am and said they were closing the testing center. I'm in Rhode Island with only 4-8 inches of snow in the forecast and its has yet to even start snowing. Took time off of work this past week and everything. Not too happy about it. Hopefully the rescheduling process goes smoothly. My NTS expires on Jan 20th but hopefully they are able to accommodate the cancellation…Nice to know I'm not the only one in this situation.

the good news for me is that i just checked the availability of my test center and its open this upcoming monday through sunday….i want to take it on monday because i feel like cramming right up until the test day is a lot better than me instead of taking it next weekend and spreading it out again over a week. the thing is though I'm working for a big 4 and I'm on an engagement starting next week. do you think if i email the manager and explain to him my situation he will understand? i took this whole week of PTO off to study for it, i studied for the test all over christmas break, and to have this come up now is pretty shitty. you think its reasonable to ask for monday off or should i wait to take it next weekend? I'm thinking of saying i can add extra hours during the week and even offer to work on the weekend to make up the hours.

@thebigguy1992 I just did the same because I am in the same boat. I emailed my manager and also said the same about extra hours but unsure what I'll be able to do. Hopefully people are understanding. This is SO stressful

I work at a big 4 as well and am on an engagement at a client site starting this week. Because of that and the fact that I took time off last week I think I am just going to try to wait until next weekend to take the exam. I think your manager should understand your unfortunate circumstance and I think it is worth asking him, IMO. Because of the cancellation, does anybody know if we get preferential treatment in the rescheduling process??

ok yeah I'm going to email him now. i dont think they're going to kick out other people who have already scheduled due to your test center getting closed…you just pick out of the open spots available.

Do we need to cancel our exam to be able to reschedule it? I just tried to reschedule and it would not let me. Won't we get charged the fees if we cancel it ourselves?

does anyone know when they call people about this stuff? i have my test scheduled tomorrow, and i want to be able to re-schedule it for monday. so hopefully they call me today or tomorrow about a time to re-schedule…or is that going to wait until monday because they are closed for the weekend?

i haven't even gotten a call or email about my closing i just looked up the test centers that are closed for next sunday and mine is listed

I got the call from my test center & then the automated call & automated email about an hour later. Mine is not listed on the website yet. The email said to schedule my exam online but when I tried it said that NTS # was in use.

@ CT-Accountant I had to call the customer care number they give you (the 853-6769 one) and have a Prometric associate cancel my appointment today in the system before I could reschedule it again online.. you should call as soon as you can, hope this helps

How did you reach someone today? When I called it said they only answer during weekday hours

The first time I called I selected the option for “State Licensure Exams” (which obviously the CPA is) but that brought me to a recording that they were closed until Monday. I called again for the hell of it, this time selecting the “all other tests” option and an actual associate picked up. I just told him about the cancellation and that I was a CPA candidate and that I couldn't reschedule online because of my NTS number and he released the NTS number for me so I could reschedule. Hope this helps.
