Hello everyone,
So on my very last review hour pro metric called to cancel my appointment due to a power shortage. They told me to call the board so that I would reschedule. Has any of you had this happened before? I have to take FAR in the next couple days so I don’t forget the materiAl, I’ve had a huge review for the last two weeks, I don’t want them to make me take it until January, today obviously was the last day for this years last testing window.

Why would you call the board? I got canceled on a Friday night when my exam was scheduled for the following Tuesday. I called up Prometric's 1800 number to get a new appointment in order to avoid paying a reschedule fee.

FAR - June 2016 - 88
REG - July 2016 - 89
AUD - Aug 2016 - review phase currently

@circadian, that's what the pro metric lady said to do, I guess because it was the last day of the window and the board has to be okay making an exception to take the test after the 10th of this month. The lady said she was going to call me again to let me know the days when I could show up to take it, I guess it gives me a couple of days to give it a last review, I don't ever want to take FAR again, this rescheduling thing does feel like I got lucky. We'll see what happens, I'm sure there were a bunch of others that had their test that day, she mention that.

@circadian malfunction, very impressive scores! Can you tell me how you studies all 4 sections in consecutive months and with such high scores? How did you study for AUD and REG?

That's like my worst nightmare…at my prometric its all booked in q1 of 2017 besides the day im taking it

If u guys live in so cal do u know why it's all booked in q1 besides the 3rd and 4tn? Is it bc of new years?

I checked all prometrics from san bernadino to san Diego and its the same scenario!

Its probably all booked because everyone is scrambling to get as much as they can done before the exam changes in Q2.

I have the same problem with you, as yesterday was supposed to be my testing day for REG also.

Did you get the updated info as of now? Do you live in Portland area, btw?

Yes Portland area, I was told to contact The board on Monday, I hope they let us take it this week, I can't do later. I think that I have read here before cases where this has happened and they've made exceptions because it wasn't the candidates fault. Im taking FAR, I been massively reviewing for the last two weeks and I can't hold ALL this info for too long. Let me know if you have any issues on rescheduling your appointment, I will try to schedule it asap, we'll see what happens.

I actually realized its bc my nts expires jan 4th lol it just hit me….hopefully this is my last exam….taking it on my last nts day.

I called NASBA just now and they advised me to email candidatecare@nasba.org for this issue.. I was told to state the name, jurisdiction id, test site, section ID and reasoning for the exam re-scheduling. They are not sure when I will get the reply but they said it should not be too long. Please let me know if you heard anything different or any updates for this. Thanks.

How are you doing on your rescheduling? I just got an email from someone at NASBA saying there is no chance I could have an extension. Then few minutes later an email from someone of the Oregon board telling me they are working on a solution. Right after that the lady from the board called me and said not to worry about anything, thAt yes I would get an extension, geez I sure hope so. Let me know what they tell you.

Yeah, I got the email from NASBA that the exam would not be available after 12/10. This is what they said, “This is the risk candidates take in waiting until the end of the testing window to test. Prometric has cleared your eligibility so that you may now schedule a new appointment using your original NTS number.”

I was not contacted by anyone from WA board though (I live across the river). Honestly, I am in a sticky situation because of this re-scheduling. My work schedule is super busy this week and I am only available in the Christmas week, then will be out of town a week after that. My CPAExcel testbank access was expired yesterday. So, it seemed that I have no choice but re-scheduling my exam next year.. Please let me know if you heard any good news, though.

Hey, did you try contacting your board? I called the Oregon board right after Prometric cancelled me and I left a message. I would suggest you call and explain, I have read here before other stories where they make excrptions. The lady from the Oregon board was pretty nice, she said they would either let me take it within the next incoming days focusing on Saturday to avoid missing work and she said that if that wasn't possible they would extend my AUD credit expiration so that the delay would not hurt me. I would suggest calling your board in WA, I also live across the river but I'm getting licensed in Oregon for various reasons that's why am in touch with Oregon board. I'll let you know what options they give me, they should be fair across the board and not just to some people. But I would ignore the NASBA email, the lady I spoke to from NASBA didn't even know we had a testing window deadline.
