Prometric Canceled My Appointment

    Hello,
So I have passed AUD and BEC. The first test I took in March was FAR. There was a huge snow storm coming to Minnesota and they e-mailed us a couple days before or maybe just a day and said they were closing the prometric sites for safety. I was angry I will say. I had planned a weekend getaway coming up, which we were able to postpone a couple days so that I could take the test. I was not ready for that Test. I failed that test.

On Monday, I was supposed to take REG. I showed up a half hour early. Everyone was waiting in the hall. 8:00 am came and still the door to prometric was locked. We started talking and determining that no one was going to show up. We call prometric helpline and it took them about an hour or two to determine that there would be no testing that day. The site was closed and no one was notified. No one notified us to reschedule the test.

There is just no accountability. You have waited for this day for months and all of a sudden your perfectly timed schedule of studying is thrown out the window. You plan around this day. I love the staff at my prometric site, they are so sweet, but wheres the person that was supposed to notify us? Why did headquarters have no idea? And they just sit there and calmly say you will have to reschedule. SO i have to wait a whole nother week. I thought i would be able to give my mind a break and prepare for thanksgiving and now i’m still studying to REG. I feel like you are just buying an apple at a grocery store when you are testing with prometric.

I will keep studying and push through and get this test done and pass. Anyone have any similar stores dealing with a testing center.

    Zach

Damn, dude, it sucks you have to go through this. I can't even begin to imagine how it feels being so amped up to take the test and then when you show up in the morning it's just “Oops, sorry, we're closed. Too bad for you.”
Although, there is one thing Prometric really gets right every single time for which I have to give them credit: taking your money.

    FAR - 75 | REG - 87 | AUD - 82 | LAW - 81

@Zach – I'm truly sorry this has happened to you, not once, but twice. When I was testing in winter (I'm in the Northeast) I was always panicking looking at the closures. Only once did I reschedule because I knew they were going to close the center on my test day due to a storm (and they did) , but I know I was lucky because I was able to do so and move my test by two days. The weather and certainly unannounced cancellations adds such an extra element of stress. It's almost unfair to have to deal with that too. I truly feel for you.

I am beyond confused why there was no notification for you and the other testers. I'm hoping the extra days can only help to improve your preparation for REG. Best of luck and go get it done!

Wow this post makes me grateful to be from the south! I am so sorry you had to go through that. I've only taken one section so far, FAR, but my testing center experience was a pleasant one. I showed up 45 minutes early as instructed, was given all the proper instructions and fingerprinted and such, and was able to start my test about 20 minutes early. I was a little skeptical when I first saw the building because it was an old building that looked kind of run down on the outside, not what I expected, but the inside was decent and the people were nice. I am not sure how much the size varies between testing centers but I liked that it was relatively small. There were about 12-14 stations in the testing room, half against each wall, they even provided physical calculators (for which I was extremely grateful) and noise cancelling earphone things which helped me block out tiny distractions like other students typing. I hope your next testing experience goes better!
