I’m from NY and have my FAR exam scheduled for 3/10 in Jersey. There is a “weather warning” of approximately 3-5 inches (although some sites say 1-3) from today 10pm till the afternoon of my exam.

Are prometric centers really sensitive to the weather?
I know Jersey schools close at even the slightest sight of snow…so I’m hoping this doesn’t affect my prometric center..also it’s the last day of the window!!! I’ve been studying for months, I intended on taking this format..does anyone know what happens in situations like this? Worst case scenario, will the testing window be extended due to any snow closures???

Personally, I think FAR has been the worst to study for. WAYYYYYY too much info. I hated REG too but at least there was a clear division between tax and b-law, in FAR its every single accounting topic I was taught in college, which I now regret not paying closer attention to.

have you two been practicing sims?
I kinda skipped most of the sims as I felt they were MCQs asked in a different format.
I looked over them but didnt really do them..

@728daniel i did all the sims in Becker final review but thats about it

I would like to practice some sims on a few of my weaker areas but i dont know how to find specific sims in the NINJA MCQ program

@728daniel @nyaccountingstudent I did some, but for the most part I focused on MCQ's. I think if you get the general concepts down as well as the MCQs, you can tackle the sims.

that's my thinking too. and since on the exam almost always they give you a drop down menu to choose..I think i know enough to pick from the list.. How do you feel about JE's NFP's and Gov't

@728daniel After rereading the chapter 4 times I began to understand the Gov't JE's a little bit more, but to be honest at this point I think I just have memorized it, so hoping nothing too conceptual is thrown my way in terms of that. As for NFP, I understand conceptually whats going on, but have some difficulty writing out the journal entries on my own. Maybe some last minute cramming will help. How do you feel?

@728daniel i did the sims write after i would complete the MCQ in becker, i dont think i retained much since i was still learning the concepts

I've never practiced sims and felt like I learned anything! I just do questions and hope the concepts stick. Need to pull an all nighter for gov't accounting.
