Everyone please read. Especially those who are going through failures this morning.

I took this test 19 times. Yes, you read it correctly, 19 times. Some were a little rushed and not deserving of a pass, but the majority of the times, it was long hours and nights after work. This journey, for me, started over 3 years ago.

Today, I passed AUD with a 76 and I am officially done.

The reason I want you to read this is because I want you to know, you are capable of this. And if a failure this morning has you questioning if this journey is for you or even worth it, the answer is this.. yes it is.

Remember, the majority of the population don’t even consider taking the test because it is too difficult or too time consuming. So for you to attempt and take the test says a lot about who you are. Please don’t give up. You can and will pass and become a CPA. There were multiple times (as you can see on me taking the test 19 times) where I almost gave up. But I kept fighting because this is something I wanted. If you want it.. go for it. Don’t let you or anyone else tell you or talk you out of it. Fulfill your dreams. You are deserving of this.

To all still fighting the battle – I’m with you and just know you will conquer this.

Thank you for the boost. Luckily I've picked myself up and have already started studying for AUD again after getting a failing score this morning. Having said that though, it is specially worrying when you think you prepared really well and exited the testing center feeling content.

How many times did you re-take AUD and how long did you approximately study for the re-takes?

    BEC - July 2016 → 78
    AUD - Sep 2016
    REG - Nov 2016
    FAR - Feb 2017

Agreed with KNCPA – If you want it, you should go for it. The first and second time I failed REG, I thought of giving up but then I realized I've passed 3 sections already and why would I give up. I re-assess my strategy, switched Review materials and thankfully passed the third attempt with an 82.

    FAR (Apr 2015) - 88
    AUD (July 2015) - 86
    BEC (Oct 2015) - 82
    REG - 73, 70, retake Sept 2016

@CPA Candidate from Dubai – I took audit a total of 4 times. I went 68, 70, 73, 76. Agreed, the feeling of failure is not fun, but trust me, once you pass, those failures will mean nothing. Stick with it.

I studied for approx. 80 hours for the 68, approx. 75 hours for the 70, 120 hours for the 73 and approx. 150 hours for the 76.

Don't give up! I have faith you will pass.

@KNCPA Congrats and very inspiring! I've taken the exams 5 times now with only credit for REG. I haven't even tried AUD because I want to pass BEC and FAR first. Thank you for the post!

    REG: 69, 73, 80!
    FAR: 62
    BEC: TBD
    AUD: TBD
