I think taking my own notes is really useful, and also practice a lot of MCQ

    Far 10/26/2015, 64, 1/4/2016, 82
    Reg 7/10/2015, 60, 2/27/2016, 86
Aud, 5/9/2016, 74 (ouch), 7/26/2016, I cannot wait to take this test again
    Bec, 6/10/2016, 70,9/8 retake

Please capitalize your posts…it drives my OCD nuts…it's my Krytonite…I can't help but change it.

(plus it's good practice for BEC 😉

MCQ, MCQ, MCQ! I barely studied without any notes, but I did over 5000 MCQ and passed with 83.

Materials: Wiley book + Ninja MCQ

    FAR - 83 (Jan 2016)
    Study time: 6 weeks
    BEC - 87 (April 2016)
    Study time: 2 weeks
    AUD - 92 (July 2016), (74 Feb 2016), (72 May 2016)
    Study time: 4 (Feb) + 2 (May) + 3 (July) = 9 weeks total
    REG - (70 April 2016)
    Study time: 3 weeks

I have passed AUD and BEC (but I let the timer run out because I wasnt taking these test seriously).

Those two sections are the ones where you can just memorize everything and forget the information right after.

MCQ are a must. Dont just know what you got right and wrong, also learn WHY you got them right and wrong. Be sure to read the description of why the answers are correct and incorrect.

Take CLEAR notes and read them later

Dont spend more than 6-7 weeks on any part. you are just going to forget what you learned if you take too long.

Jeff, if my kindle didn't capitalize for me, you'd be a goner!!!

    FAR 7/25/15 76!
    AUD 10/30/15 93
    BEC 2/27/16 82
    REG 5/23/16 88!
Ninja Book and MCQ and the forum - all the way!!!
and a little thing i like to call, time and effort!
if you want things to change, you have to do something different

@Sunni – I agree on limiting your study time. I could never go past 5-6 weeks myself.

I failed my first FAR exam, just started my studying again, but the problem is – I remember the right answers for MCQ …..
What should I do? I am using Gleim.

    FAR - 11/28/2015 (fail)
    AUD - ???
    REG - ???
    BEC - ???

I just don't like Gleim's book, it doesn't work for me. I switched to Becker book and Ninja MCQ, my score bumped from 64 to 82

    Far 10/26/2015, 64, 1/4/2016, 82
    Reg 7/10/2015, 60, 2/27/2016, 86
Aud, 5/9/2016, 74 (ouch), 7/26/2016, I cannot wait to take this test again
    Bec, 6/10/2016, 70,9/8 retake

@Vanessachy What was your strategy for your score increase on FAR? With the new 2017 exam it seems the focus will be on DRS Sims and enhanced SIMS (Probably 3) out of 8 SIMS) + research and threw regular SIMS. I am writing out every single JE I come across in my studies and really nailing down the 5 biggest sections in financial statement accounts.

NINJA method, 6 weeks studying, 2 weeks reviewing (MCQs only with 1-2 days for sims), always move onto next section, do retakes after you finish the next section, never give up, keep on trucking.

The NINJA MCQ's made all the difference for me. I kept pounding them out since this is how I was best learning…by making mistakes and realizing what I did wrong.

For those who studied only 5-6 weeks, were you studying full time? I haven't been able to get through the material and review that quickly.
