I took my test on April 22 and had to wait until May 24 for my FAR score, talk about anxiety. It was my first time taking FAR and I had been self studying with Becker on the weekends since December (single mom of two little kids and full time tax accountant). I felt confident walking into the test center as I had already taken and passed REG and didnt think it was as bad as people made it out to seem.
The multiple choice on FAR was what I expected it to be. I did nonstop MCQs for 3 days before the exam with Becker final review. But didn’t really focus too much on the sims. The Becker sims are no match to actual test sims. I left myself only an hour to do 7 sims. When I got to the 4th testlet I started freaking out. I knew only two of them for sure, muddled through another two, had no idea on the fifth, and didn’t even fill anything in for the last two, one being a research, because I ran out of time! I left the test site feeling defeated. I read through Another 71 forums about other FAR experiences that entire night, getting some hope that you can leave sims blank and still pass.
I just checked my score, and I passed with a 77!
To anyone trying to pass FAR…. if I can make it happen as a single mom with a 3 and 5 year old and a full time job, so can you! Just believe in yourself and put in the time.
