Passed AUD, BEC 3 Weeks Enough? Dilemma

Been on this forum for 3 years, appreciate any advice. My last section is BEC and it is scheduled on May 28th. I will have only 100 hours of quality study time to study starting today, currently working fulltime. I am using Becker and only finished B1. I was wondering if I should reschedule to July and try to pass it in one shot. If I take in July I have to wait a month for scores, but If I take in May, I would have to wait only 10 day. However, if I take in May I will get 2 shots at passing since it will be Q2 and Q3. But if I fail in beginning of July, I will have to wait until October to take the exam.

From experience, I just found out today that I past audit with an 80. It took me 250 hours of studying to pass, by completing both the Becker and Ninja program, reading and making notes. So I was thinking 100 hours may not be enough. Thinking that if I take it in July, I won’t have to kill myself this month on studying. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

    F: 54 (4/13) 60 (4/14) 67 (9/14) 66 (10/14) 63 (11/15) 79 (2/16) PASSED
    A: 60 (5/13) 80 (4/16) PASSED
    R: 60 (7/13) 61 (2/15) 70 (4/15) 77 (7/15) PASSED
    B: (6/16)

I think giving yourself two shots is a good idea. Not that I am doubting you, but that is just me. I like to be cautious when it comes to this exam.

If you choose to do that why dont you move your exam to sometime in the 10 day extension so you can maximize your study time? You would still be able to retake in July if you don't pass because that is technically going to be a different testing window.

If you take your test in the 10 day extension window depending on when you take it you could wait between a little over a week to three weeks to get your score. I think it is worth maximizing your study time now and giving yourself as many chances to retake just in case.

    Hope that helps!

You've got 3 windows to pass it assuming your Reg is good into q1 2017? Have you already started studying? I might give it a shot on June 10 if I were you that gives you almost 5 weeks.

3 weeks is exactly the amount of time I passed BEC in and it was my first exam. If you will devote 100 hours to it that will be more than enough. I estimate I spent around 30 on it. I did cut it sorta close with my score but a pass was a pass.

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)
    REG - August 27th, 2016

CPApracticer- I'm in a similar situation as you and just started studying last night. Mine is scheduled for 6/7 and I'm not sure if it will be enough time. Roger says around 80 hours should be enough, but I plan on at least 100-120. The only downside I see to us not taking it this window is losing your exam fee if we fail. Personally, I would rather have 2 cracks at it then just one because you never know what type of exam you will get that day.

When I took FAR on 2/29, I considered rescheduling because my son was born a little over 3 weeks before the exam and I wasn't able to study as much as I was beforehand. I decided to take it just to get a feel for the exam, since it was my first attempt, and managed to pull out a 75. You're obviously capable of passing these exams since this is your last one. Don't doubt yourself and go for it! Worst case you just keep studying and retake next window. Just my .02

I am in the same boat i have the exam May 28th…We'll get our scores June 8th, which is the quickest turnaround i have seen yet. I'm halfway through roger but the MCQ are taking me FOREver it feels like. I sit and stare at questions. However i'm trying to use the motivation from passing AUD to push me through. My wife and I are having a baby June 7 so i'm trying to at least knock out BEC before then. Working full time and in a really busy transition of systems at work so i'm swamped all day and exhausted at night.

    Good luck to you!

tacctfin11- Congrats on the baby! Hopefully you'll get lucky like me and have one that sleeps lol. How are you liking Roger? I hope he does a good job with cost accounting because I hated that subject.

RE2PECT: Thanks! Haha I hope she sleeps too! If not I am going to be a complete zombie!! So far Roger for FAR and AUD have been great. I'm halfway through BEC with Roger and it is really thick material for me to get through….I think a little burned out honestly with not having a life since last october when all this began……….I start Cost Accounting on sunday so i can't speak to the material on that yet…..There are not enough hours in the day!!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck on Audit!

@CPApracticer @tacctfin11 @Re2pect Im in the same position as well. Taking BEC on the 28th! I got a damn 74 last time I took it, and the studying consisted of an intense 10-12 days while working full time during busy season. I think you can definitely knock it out by May 28th. I havent really started to study for the retake but I will be tonight. Good luck to all uh youz!

Although 120 hours should be enough, why don't you reschedule for June 10th and buy yourself a few more days?
