So is partnership accounting still a topic on FAR? I’m studying using Becker but have NINJA audio and one chapter on the audio is Partnership Accounting, but I don’t see anything about it in the Becker lectures? Is it a tested topic?

@justa75pls would you know where in the Ninja MCQ for FAR that partnership accounting would be so I know to skip those?

@justa75pls – where/how did you find this out? My review material has half a unit dedicated to partnership accounting, and when I look at the updates for the text there are no updates stating that this is not needed for the exam. I would like to confirm this because I spent a good few hours trying to get partnership accounting down just the other day :/

@ann It isn't on Wiley at all and I didn't see it on the AICPA Blueprints. Any others chime in?

It appears partnership accounting is tested in REG not FAR, according to the exam blueprints. It's included in Area V: Federal Taxation of Entities for 28%-38% of the REG exam.

I used ctrl+F to find any mention of partnerships in the exam blueprints (link below). The three results all came up in the REG section, mainly on pages 22-23.

Thanks for the help! I'm using Gleim and they must have just not posted an update about it. There was probably 3-4 subunits on it in my text and in the online outline. Maybe I'm missing something.
I didn't think I saw it in the blueprints either but wanted to be sure either way before I put more time into it or left it alone moving forward.

Btw, joint ventures (partnerships) is included on the do not study list Jeff provided for the ninja MCQ! For those that missed it:

    Do Not Study Summary:
    1E 1: Personal Financial Statements (11)
    1E 3: Liquidation Basis Financial Statements (3)
    2E 4: Joint Ventures (11)
    2E 6: Investment Property (8)
2I 3: Debt with Conversion Features and Other Options (9)
    2M 2: Deferred Compensation Arrangements (3)
3 Q: Related Parties and Related Party Transactions (9)

Thanks, I will skip the simulations on partnership accounting. Another change is that all deferred income taxes are now classified as non-current.
