I know I’m not getting anywhere near the recommended 7-8 hours. I start work early in the morning and am usually studying until around 11 at night and won’t fall asleep until around 11:30-12. I’m sure I’m not the only one here who’s sleep deprived thanks to the AICPA.

@perez… I originally gave myself 2 months. it got pushed back because the 2nd chapter of Becker was giving me nasty fits and I was working the Miami Open tennis Tournament for 10 days so I fell behind. I'm actually glad that happened because it gave me more time to focus.

I also recommend that you do the hw after each section. You will have a harder time not doing them as you move on through the book.

@perezc3910, I might have confused you. I took aud on 5/9 and waiting for the score. I am studying for BEC now and taking it on 6/10.

6-8. I try to say I can get by on less and substitute with coffee but that failed big time back in college. Plus I focus and study better after work if I am well rested

I get about 5.5 to 6 hours too. I got more during tax season, but now that I am back to trying to get my CPA done, I get LESS. I also try to workout for an hour in the evenings (doesn't always happen), so my days are spread thin. Yeah, I am basically yawning all the time. 🙂

Dang nobody on here sleeps! I get a min of 8.5 hours every night. I've got to have it or I can't function in the morning! Helps that studying in the evening puts me to sleep…lol.

@perezc3910- I'm using Roger. I didn't do all the mcq for each section. His test bank only has 720 mcq, which I thought was pretty low. I did around 450, but only like 25 for cost acctg. They take me way too long for each question and I wanted to try and get through the material and give myself at least 2 1/2 weeks for review. I'm just going to use Ninja from now on and hope it'll start to come together.

@Papogator24, I am going to try to stick it out and continue doing the homework then. My plan is to finish all chapters by the first week of June and use 3 weeks for review. I have purchased the NINJA Audio and Notes. I used them together for an extra hour of study before bed. I intend on purchasing the NINJA MCQ for my review.

@Vanessachy, OH sorry. I was going by what you have as your signature underneath your response. How was AUD for you? I was awful at it back in college. I know that will be the hardest one for me.

@perezc3910, opps, I made a mistake on my signature. I cannot tell about AUD, I studied so much and feel like I am going to squeeze by. English is not my first language, so the language of aud def confused me, but I think I did well on SIM.

8 hours is a myth and has been debunked. Some people actually require more, and for others 6 is just right. I rarely sleep more than 6 hours a night.

@Vanessachy English isn't my first language either but I have perfected it throughout the years. I wish you luck. You are almost done! I have just started and I am already exhausted lol. I can only imagine how you feel.

@Lilla, I don’t mean to overstep but have you had a sleep test to see if you have sleep apnea or been screened for depression? There are a lot of studies that say too much sleep can be a bad thing or that if you’re “sleeping” for long periods of time but don’t wake up feeling refreshed, it could be sleep apnea.

When I was doing the long distance relationship with my boyfriend, I would go to sleep at 8pm and not get up until 8am. Granted, I hated my job and felt stuck.

I’ve always been someone who needs 8 hours to function well because I don’t do coffee. And until recently (last 4 months, I was NEVER a morning person. I would have rather stayed in bed until 9am and then stayed later at work). My first busy season which ended a month ago (even though I had been working in corporate for 3 years) had me getting up at 5am to get to work by 7am which turned to 7:30am and hopefully leaving around 7:15pm with another hour to get home, hopefully getting to sleep by 9pm.

It's funny, after busy season I was getting more sleep but felt more exhausted.

Last week, I had a family emergency and I've consistently been getting home around 8pm and then getting up at 4:30-5:00 to stop at the hospital before and after work. I have a long commute as well so that zaps a lot of my free time or sleeping time. My dad and sister can function well on zero sleep. For the longest time growing up my dad worked 2 jobs and I swear he never slept.

I’m to the point now where I get up so early on the weekends 

Agree with @mla11692. I like to get about 7 hours, but I do just fine on 6 and it's what I have gotten for the majority of my life. If I go below 6, I yawn a lot (which has been happening since I've gotten back to studying for the Exam).

@perezc3910, I am trying to perfect my English, but I still cannot get rid of my accent. I have to admit, I get more excited after I passed two and I am more energetic. You will understand that later:)
