Depends on what you're looking for. I plan to someday get an MBA from LSU-Shreveport, unless the college I work at begins offering one (perk of getting one where I work would be free tuition!). LSU-Shreveport is $369/credit hour, so I think last I calculated it, it would be around $13,000 for the degree including the various fees that would be required. Cost is a major factor for me, so such an attractive price tag definitely caught my interest! Additionally, I took my undergrad accounting courses through LSU Independent/Distance Learning (aka online), so I feel that I know what quality an LSU education would be. More importantly, though, I wanted to get my MBA from a school that's big enough to be recognized outside of its immediate area, so a state school has a strong appeal for me. Frosting on the cake, it's AACSB-accredited!
…but, to save $13,000, I'd skip all those perks to take it from the school I work at, if they began offering an MBA and I could go for free as an employee. 🙂 If I'm paying for it, though, I'd want it to be cheap and from a school that is at least somewhat recognizable, and LSU-Shreveport seemed like a good combination of those options.
