Hello!

I have recently passed all four sections of the CPA exam. However, I have 147 credits and need three more accounting credits for NYS.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to obtain these three credits the easiest, fastest, and cheapest way?

I took a UNA course in the fall but I don’t believe I can take any other since I have already taken courses in all of the different areas.

The problem I am having is finding a course that I haven’t taken already. I have taken:

-Principles of Accounting

-Financial Reporting & Analysis I

-Financial Reporting & Analysis II

-Cost Accounting

-Auditing

-Government and Nonprofit Accounting

-Tax I (Individual)

-Tax 2 (Corporate)

-Forensic Accounting

-Accounting Information Systems

=30 accounting credits (33 needed for NYS)

Can't you just take anything you want if you have already passed all 30 hours of accounting electives required to sit?

I am not at 150 yet but I need to take like 5, 3hour credits courses to obtain my license when I pass my last section. I am a candidate of NM so rules might differ, but here they also let you sit before obtaining all of the education requirements.

I second “International Accounting”. That is one of the classes I am currently taking for the same purpose.

Accounting Research at DeVry was not bad at all. The class consists of using the codification a bit, weekly discussions on authoritative bodies, weekly one page papers, one research paper, etc. Not that cheap though from what I can remember. Also confirmed with NASBA that it would count.

I have 147/150 as of now and just joined that LSU online Forensic class. I need additional accounting credits for NYS as well.

I just finished this class. It is on hold right now because they are moving the course to fully online. But if i were you I would ask to be put on the notification list just in case.

It's been on hold for a while so it should be ready to go soon. You may be able to call and ask for a timeframe. But it was cheap and not too difficult.
