Was the old exam format really just filled with all of these drop down boxed sims? I just began studying and taking the exams this quarter and am realizing I really missed out on the old exam format

I was studying AUD using Ninja test bank and I did about half the SIMS. Of those half I did ….I could not believe how easy they were OR had no document review. It was just a few drop downs, basically a medium size MCQ. If those were really once CPA questions…I really should have started this process a while back ago. The SIMS now days are brutal.

not sure why the AICPA is trying to make it harder to pass. The managing partner at my firm told me MORE CPAs are retiring than coming in. You would think it would be easier then to get a license.

CPA license should be like a driving license. You physically show up at DMV (in our case Prometric) half ass the test and bingo…pass and you get a license

I do not agree. There has to be some complexity otherwise everyone would be a CPA and our economy/investors would be in trouble. I agree that it should be a tad easier, but not so easy that it becomes a 75% pass rate

when I got my driver license at 18 in California where I used to live on my driving test I hit the curb going about 30 MPH, and by the miracle of god she let me pass. HAHAHA. That is probably equal in the CPA exam world to leaving all the SIMS blank and doing OK on the MCQs

Right now I think overall passing rate falls between 45 and 55 percent depending on the part and quarter taken. I would be OK with around 60-65 percent.

BOURNE- you should ask your doctor for some XANAX. It may help you in the long term and perhaps ST.

Your driver's license experience is the perfect analogy as to why the CPA exam shouldn't be that easy lmao

@Bourne I took more than my share of exams under the old format, and I can tell you that not all of the SIMs were drop down boxes. Honestly, besides the addition of DRS, I haven't noticed a change on SIMs for the sections I've taken under the new format (all but BEC so far).

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD
