    Hello everyone!!

I have a question about NTS and retaking exams. I am in California.

I got my first NTS in December 2015, and I paid for FAR and AUD for this NTS.

Then I took FAR this month (May 2016) but I think I failed it. I have AUD scheduled in August 2016.

I plan to retake FAR in July (next testing window), but I am not sure can I apply for a new NTS for FAR now?

I think that the rule is I must finish all the exams listed on the NTS I initially paid for in order to get a new NTS. Does that mean I have to wait till I finished AUD in August in order to apply for a new NTS and then retake FAR?

My friend told me that now I can apply for a new NTS for FAR, then use this new NTS to schedule FAR in July.

When I go to the FAR exam in July, bring my new NTS with me.

Then when I go to the AUD exam in August, bring the old NTS with me.

    Does this work?

Thank you all for your help!

It takes the CBA about 3 weeks to process a new application. It takes less than that to get your score. So just send the $25 now and apply for a new NTS.

    AUD - 74, 99 !!
    REG - 74, 92
    BEC - 83
    FAR - 73, 86

Yes, your friend is right. This is actually how I do it, as Track55 is right with the 3 week processing time.

Assuming you have a test or 2 to still apply and sit for, I put in my app about a week before I sit for my test. The board approves you, and you await your score. The moment a failing score is released (sorry 'bout that, know how that goes), you can immediately go select your test in your portal to retake, pay for it, then have an NTS in about 48 hours. If you passed, then yay for you and you can hang tight until you want to schedule/pay your 3rd or 4th test. This strategy won't be of much help when you are awaiting the score of your last test unless you want to voluntarily toss $25 in pre-emptive app fees anticipating you failed, and saves you 3 weeks in time.

    BEC - 74, 77
    FAR - 72, 71 (retake 7/29)
    REG - 69
    AUD - Q4 '16

Three weeks to process NTS in CA?

Here in KY, it takes them only six days.

You can't apply for a new NTS until you get your score. If you failed you can apply for the new one about 48 hours after score release.

when you reapply for the NTS, does that also allow you to retake any other exam that you failed in the future? For example, im planning on taking FAR in Aug, but i want to retake REG in July. If I reapply for a new NTS for Reg, does that mean if i fail FAR in aug, then i have to pay another $25 for another nts for FAR?

    REG 8/18 -
    BEC 75
    FAR
    AUD

@nartycart18 – You can only apply for an NTS for a test you failed or don't already have an open NTS for. So yes, if you fail FAR, you will have to pay another $25 to apply to sit for it again. Except I'm pretty sure the fees are going back to $50 July 1 FML. If you are at the beginning of your testing journey, reference my strategy above so if you get a failing score, you don't have to wait weeks to schedule your retake.

I just got a 73 on AUD and I sent my $25 for my NTS the day I found out my score. Hoping I can then take the exam again in July since I am studying for it. I have the other three test already scheduled and I am just going to move one test around. I wish I would not have paid for all the tests at the same time but I figured this whole time I would have passed these test no problem. Silly me, I am buckling down though so I can pass these tests and move on from them.

AUD- 72, 71, TBD (now i am pissed no more messing around)
    BEC-8/29/16
    REG-10/10/16
    FAR-70 retest-11/28/16
