    Hello everyone,
I wanted to get some people’s opinion about my situation. I live in California and currently am getting my MBA at UCSD (University of California- San Diego). There is no accounting concentration at this program. In order to meet the 24 credit hours required to qualify to take the exam, I am starting to take accounting courses at my local community college. I plan on taking the Becker review course prior to applying to take the exam. My question is, has anyone had any experience going this route? Would just taking 24 credit hours of accounting course and review course prepare me enough to pass the CPA in California or is this just a long shot?

Thank you for any advice you could give me!

    James

The accounting courses plus Becker review should do, but I would also make sure your education requirement is up to snuff before you apply to sit for the CPA exam.I did the evaluation application (it is $100) for them to let me know my education requirements are enough to sit the exam.

Thank you for your reply… As far as education requirements, do you mean the business credits? I think I should be ok with my classes I've taken in my MBA program. When you initially apply, do they tell you what you are missing if you haven't met the requirements?
