What do you do the night before an exam?

I am testing tomorrow and I think I am going to take it easy tonight. I have done some MCQs today and I may go over some notes and have a good dinner this evening. Then I hope to have a good nights sleep and be rested for the exam.

My first exam (Reg), I studied like crazy the night before and right up the exam. I failed. I passed 4 consecutive by relaxing the night before by limiting myself to light NINJA note review and max 60 MCQ in my weak areas. A good night's sleep is key.

I like to take the same approach as you. Ideally I lightly read notes and go through a few MCQs during the day, but take it easy at night.

The entire day before my REG exam I spent my time reviewing material, taking a Becker Final Exam, and completing more Ninja MCQs. I did this up until the moment I went to bed and had an 8am exam that next day. However, for my first attempt at AUD I took the same approach as you. The day before the exam I lightly ran through a few notes/book and completed a few sets of Ninja MCQs. I took that night off and relaxed before my 8am exam.

Although my results and approaches were different, I don't think my AUD score was a direct result of taking it easy the day before. Personally, I felt much more confident and prepared for my AUD exam and didn't feel it was necessary to continue powering through MCQs. I know I messed up on the SIMs, and it wasn't for a lack of knowledge on the material. So if you are well prepared I would suggest giving yourself a break in order to go in fresh on exam day. The brain needs rest.

I say take it easy. Do very light studying if you really feel you need to. I never studied the day before, I was always so burnt and stressed out I couldn't stand it. I'd go to the gym and burn off some steam and make plans to do something that will distract myself (but don't go drink, you don't want a hangover). Binge on some Netflix or watch a movie. Destress yourself so you are rested and prepared tomorrow. The morning of (usually on my way to the testing center since my husband would drive) I would do a last minute review of anything I was struggling with, that way it was fresh in my head.

    Good luck!!

I almost always cram until the last minute. Very rare has been the occasion that I felt I knew the material so well that more studying would not help. In fact, I pulled an all-nighter before my AUD exam. Totally worth it.

Geesh, can you imagine if you took it easy and then you got a 74? I think that it would suck to fail, knowing a little extra effort would have made the difference. I think that's what happened to me in like 9th grade, and ever since I have never been able to relax the night before the exam. Even if I didn't study, I don't think I could relax, anyway.

I do four to six hours of studying the day before. I do not study the day of the exam, and I take my exam after lunch. My reading comprehension is lower in the morning, no matter how much coffee. Do not overdo it right before the exam, it is stressful enough.

I always stopped studying by about noon the day before an exam.

I suggest relaxing that night. Have a good meal and a beer. Spend some “time” with your significant other if you have one. Watch something on TV. And get a good nights sleep.

Also make sure you eat breakfast on test day!!!

The day before my test I usually did a few SIM's in the morning but mostly just read the chapters I felt like I might need a push to pass. But, I never really took it easy before any test. I studied until I walked into the Prometric Center.

I did what bet10 and bhunt815 did. I believe in last minute cramming, but everyone is different.

Thanks for all of the replies! I find it interesting to see how everyone likes to do it differently. I have gone through notes and listened to the Ninja Audio today. I will wake up in the morning and go for a nice long walk while listing to the Audio one last time before the exam. Ive done a few thousand MCQs over the past month so hopefully that's enough.

Thank you! It was a Tough exam; I have no Idea how I did. I feel like the first test-let was pretty easy but the last two were pretty hard. I had two hours remaining for the Sims one of which was a DRS and very difficult to figure out. The other 6 sims were not to bad I think. I used the literature to complete 3 of them including the research.
