    Hi All – so I found out yesterday, I finally passed my last part after a long 3.5 years. Congrats to everyone who has passed, and for those who did not, keep pushing you all can do it!!!

    I wanted to know if there was a board on here that states what are the next steps after the exam? I know every state may be different.

    I am not in a rush to start this process as I would like to enjoy my freedom for this week. But I figured I should familiarize myself with the next steps as I heard it takes a while to process.

    Thanks!!

    You'll probably need to get licensed. Your state board's site should be able to tell you what the next step is after you get certified.

    AUD - 56 - 68 - 61 - 9/8/16
    REG - 75
    FAR - 7/15/16
    BEC - TBD

    Congratulations!

    I’m 4 years in and am not done.

    Check your state board and see if ethics is required. It’s about 16 hours and it’s take home. 40 MCQ questions and a 90% is required to pass. But I’ve heard a lot of people do that with ease. Plus you can retake it 3 times I think.

    FAR: 65 (still drying my tears) 2nd attempt: 7/2016
    BEC: 81 5/2016 (WOO FIRST PASS!)
    REG: 5/2016
    AUD: 8/2016

    @fwesley Yes, the AICPA one is suuuuuuper easy. Not even 16 hours. I did it all in just over an hour.

    @Jennifer – haha yes I know I need to get licensed, I just didn't know how I was supposed to go about it.

    Thanks for your contribution and telling me about the AICPA one you took.

    @fwesley – I can't tell you how many times I wanted to give up. Please don't give up, keep pushing! For me, I know a big change was that I left Big 4. When I was there, I honestly didn't have the time nor the energy to study. Every time I would dedicate the time, something would come up on my engagement so I couldn't really focus.

    After being a senior, I decided to make the move out of public and I've been able to pass 3 parts since then.

    You guys are amazing!! I’m so proud to have so many “friends” who are supportive and encouraging. This industry is lucky!

    @CPA
    – check your board’s Website if you have to do ethics. The courses might be different.

    @Jennifer
    – REALLY?! I thought it was 16 hours of lecturing. I know I’m not supposed to – but I’m going to do it next week. I take FAR Saturday and I have a break before restarting to study for REG in April. I haven’t passed one in a year and I need a WIN/PASS to keep my motivation going. So I’m going to get it done quickly.

    @fwesley – I'm not sure if you heard of them, but I supplemented my studying with SuperfastCPA notes. They were great, easy read notes and went right to the point.

    @fwesley Oh, I didn't even do the lecture thing. It's only worth 8 ethics hours, so it can't be more than that. Get the PDF book. In the back, there is an exam (I thought it was just practice). Print this out and work through it with the book. For me, that WAS the exam and I already had all the answers marked down on it. It doesn't show what you get wrong, and they weren't all super clear-cut, but it wasn't too bad.

    Also, FWIW, it took me 3 years and 13 exams to pass. For me, it was really a matter of finding the study method that worked best. You'll get there. Just keep pushing through.
