Has anyone noticed a lot of test takers saying they got SIMs that they had no idea how to complete?

With the recent exam changes – I wonder if its a bad time to purchase cpa study courses since its only been a few months. Have they had time to update their study material to reflect the exam changes? I wouldn’t want to buy a course, study the material, and get a couple of SIMS the material didn’t cover on the real exam.

Anyone have thoughts on this…?

To be honest, you can never be that prepared for the simulations. It's a free response question, and the AICPA can test material in any number of ways. No review course will be able to mimic it because there are so many possibilities.

The CONTENT that is being tested over is the same as what the review courses cover. Maybe some courses overstress certain areas, and underestimate other areas. Other than that, simulations are testing the same materials as the M/C just in a different form that requires more of an understanding.
