Hey guys,
sorry if this question has been asked. I skimmed over the BEC thread but didnt really find anything on the exam. for those that have taken the new format can anyone describe how the exam is? Im just trying to understand in case I have to retake in 2018.. Obviously thats when the bigger changes are coming but Id like to know if the new exam was that difficult (especially SIM wise)- obviously only disclose whats allowed and not violating any rules. Thanks!

4 sims. I got the hard ones. I used wiley and roger and neither covered any sims even close to what showed up on exam. It was the x-factor in my score (got a 73). So don't take it lightly. I don't know why, but to me it feels like there is big disconnect between reviews sims and exam sims, and I have passed FAR and REG on first attempt and each time I come up weak on sims even though I practiced each one on review. The AICPA free practice exam sims are way more helpful than review sims. Your experience maybe different, but either way don't take it lightly. Writing portion for BEC was okay.

Thanks Slow! I will take note of that if worse comes the worse to a retake. Btw how do you access AICPA practice exam? I tried but it keeps crashing.. Im using safari, not sure if that is relevant

I used chrome only. It worked just fine for me. There is a little play button on top right which you have to click until you get to the practice test. Just FYI, only 2 simulations to practice there, but I felt they were more relevant conceptually than reviews simulations. Reviews really need to step up their game on simulations as it is accounted for 50% of the grade now.

I got an 81 under the new format back in August. Prior to that I got 2-74's under the OLD format.

I practiced the SIMS on the AICPA website which helped me a lot. I would leave 1 hour for the SIMS on the exam for sure. They were doable but you have to know the concepts well. There is no way to BS the sims. You can BS the WC if you get a very general topic to write on.
