New AUD and New FAR, Which One Should I Take First?

Hello fellows, I’d like to know your suggestion.

I noticed that my Wiley FAR book increased from 920s pages 2016 version to 1300pages 2017 version. My last day to take the exam is 8/22. Originally, I planned to take it by the end of May or beginning of June.

I skimmed through 2/5 of the course so far and will do so for the best by 5/2 for the prep class in the subject in my school. I will only have two classes in the summer. Do you think I can be ready by the exam day?

Actually, I have an option which is to apply AUD and REG now and take AUD first and postpone FAR. So far, I think I have prepared AUD better than FAR due to the advanced audit class I am taking. So do you think it is a better plan?

Thank you for taking time and answer my question in advance.

The consensus is always to take FAR first, then AUD. However, since you just took the advanced audit class, your better route would be to tackle AUD and take FAR later.

    Good luck!

I just took AUD today. Having already taken FAR I was able to remember a lot of the ratios more easily and having knowledge of FAR helped with correcting JE's. I would suggest taking FAR then AUD.

Same. FAR before AUD. It helps a lot more.

Thank you! The only thing I am worried about is that if I take AUD after FAR, I may forget a lot of the content/rules I memorized of AUD. How was the AUD test you took. Was is it very hard? I heard the new version exams get much harder.

Despite having just taken your audit class, I agree with the others that you should try to take FAR first. It looks like you are planning for FAR in the end of May, or maybe at the latest early July (since June is a blackout month, no 10-day extension for this quarter). I would say try to keep to your FAR date of late May. After that, take AUD July or August, try to schedule it before the August score release so that as soon as you find out your FAR score, you can look to schedule future tests. Though I'm sure at that point you'll only have REG left ;D

I tried to take FAR first because everyone said it was the most difficult, and while I didn't pass, studying for AUD seemed much easier after that. But now that I have to retake FAR, getting through 10 Becker chapters is difficult after the 6 sections of BEC and AUD each.

Thank you Curly Girl. Yeah, it is hard for me to decide. Compare to FAR, I definitely have prepared AUD much better, and AUD has much less content. FAR is a monster, too much contents, and I am not sure whether I will have enough time to work all contents well, since I only skimmed through 1/3 of it.
