Sooooooo…. I originally was contemplating going with Becker or Roger. I previously had a thread asking comparisons between the two. It’s so nice to have a place to come and ask people who have used both programs their opinions, even though a lot of people probably find these threads annoying :). Anyway I was pretty sure I was going to go with Roger, but than I got my NTS and started researching again out of habit. My GOAL is to buy a software this weekend. I’m pretty confident that I could probably pass with any software (all about the effort put in), but I want the best available tools to aid me. I’m taking FAR first and I’m scheduling in the beginning of July. I just wanted some last minute opinions on CPA review software, as I’m interested in CPAExcel now too.

How I studied best in college:

    – I always paid attention in class. My favorite professors were ones who provided examples and didn’t just read PP slides.

    – When it came to studying for exams, I always would always read the covered chapters multiple times and pound practice MCQ into my head. I would always do really well doing this.

Also – from anyone’s experience, is it better just to buy the review by the section even though it costs a little more? This way if it doesn’t work out. it’s less of a loss. Also I will be reimbursed for this eventually (assuming I pass).

    Thanks in advance Ninjas 🙂

I pulled the trigger on CPAExcel… Sucks to see that 2K come out of my account. Was going to buy in parts so I can get reimbursed after passing each section but oh well it was too good of a deal. I hope I don't regret not getting Becker though, thanks to everyone who helped out!

Glad to hear you made a decision. Try not to get too overwhelmed when the big box of material arrives at your door. I remember when mine came, I was like, “Ugh!! How will I ever be able to get through all of this stuff?!” I think you'll be happy with CPAexcel…I don't regret using it at all. Getting started on studying is a huge first step…good luck to you!

I bought CPAexcel and passed BEC on my first try. I also do what ASUalum does…skip the videos unless I needed additional material to understand certain topics. Going forward, I will purchase the Ninja Mcq's and Ninja Notes for additional study material. Another suggestion, when you are developing your study schedule…the default review phase for CPAexcel is 1 week. I like at least 2 weeks to review.

Good choice for a good comprehensive package….don't forget to get those ninja mcq's,, they are a really big help.
P.S Becker cost so much more, and expires. CPAexcel updates until you pass. Hopefully, you will be studying so hard that you pass and won't have to worry about renewing. Good luck….July will be here in no time.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

Hey fellow CPAExcel users…quick question. Did you follow the study planner that CPAExcel sets up for you or did you do your own thing?
