Need FAR reassurance

    Hi everyone. The FAR section has gotten the best of me, as it does with many. I take my test 6/10, so I still have time left, but I am still struggling to go back and review old material. My time has been spent keeping up with finishing the current material timely, and I still have yet to review. I would like to start right now (today), but am very worried it will be similar to starting from scratch. I don’t remember ANY of this earlier stuff. Can I still make it?

    Question is, with a little over a month left, can it still be done. Like I said, I won't quit, but my preferred game plan would have been to have time to review before now. It just hasn't been there.

    Been through 16 of 20 Gleim units, but am diligently doing everything just to stay on track to complete things according to my study planner. Why?

    Just curious where you were at. Not familiar with gleim but if ur almost finished with that at a diligent pace, i would think you have plenty of time to review and boost up those weak areas. You have over a whole month.

    I would suggest sacrificing at least 12 hours a weekend to study till the test. Sounds awful but if you fully focus, u still got time to go out friday/saturday night to blow off some steam. That is if you work part/fulltime during the week. Just my opinion of course!

    Yeah, I am thinking I need to ramp up my weekend study tremendously. I have been averaging 19-20 hours per week, but I am going to need those extra weekend hours to get in a good review over the old material. Thanks. Just nervous because I feel I have forgotten the old material completely.

    I really struggled with FAR. It was not until the last week or so before I took the exam (I took it today) before everything started coming together and I started to feel better about things. I still think you have plenty of time. I suggest doing ridiculous amounts of Ninja MCQs in the last few weeks leading up to your exam. I felt pretty unprepared going into my exam today, but felt pretty good after the MCQ part of the exam. Now the SIMS were a different story…but I pretty much expected that. It's going to be a long three weeks waiting for results…

    @ASU,

    I know you're not allowed to reveal specifics, but was your test heavily leaning towards one or two topics? I read that a lot from different people who have taken it.

    That's what I was expecting based on what I had read from others too…however, I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. It was definitely a mix of everything…don't get hung up on really detailed stuff though…focus more on the big picture of everything. If you can get through all of the material and give yourself the last three weeks or so to just review and focus on MCQs, I think you'll be fine. The MCQs on the exam are very doable…it's the SIMS that are the problem. REG is the only section I felt pretty good about the SIMS. I just feel like there's not really any way to prepare for them.

    ASUalum – I took Far today too, I think the Sims were near impossible… check out my rant in the far study group. lol

    @Claudia408 – Just read it! Yep, I pretty much feel the same way. I left myself almost 2 hours for the SIMS and could have used another hour! Although I probably still wouldn't have come up with the correct answers in that time anyway. Ha! If they want to give us SIMS like this, we should at least get dual monitors to use. I thought about 3 of them were fine…but the rest were beyond awful!

    @ASUalum,

    I have been worried because I've done zero reviewing, but it starts tomorrow!!! I have got to get back to the older stuff. Wow, the SIMs that Gleim gives you are horrible, and it sounds like the exam's are even worse!!

    Yeah i think you got it. Taking solace in knowing you worked hard over the few weekends is a good feeling when you are two days from the exam.
