Need a little direction on FAR study method

So far, I’ve completed FAR 1 in Roger (just started studying on Sunday morning). His prep calendar states to complete the TBS’ and the accompanying MCQs. However, since my exam is not until May, I’m wondering if it is even worth it to do that so early. Of course, I’ve completed the few questions from the end of every lesson, but I’m curious to know how I’ll keep the info fresh if I do the questions right now. What do you all think?

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

Answer MCQs after each completed topic, and then move onto the next one. How to keep the information fresh? : Review the previous notes you wrote after each topic. Let’s say you’re already done on your Topic#2, review or just read your notes from Topic#1. After finishing Topic#4, read notes from Topic#1, #2, and #3. Then begin Topic#5 and rinse again with #2, 3, and 4, and so on and so forth.

How many chapters are there in Roger FAR?

Make sure you finish your materials from cover to cover before you think of supplementing them. The common mistake which many CPA candidates commit is buying supplemental review materials when in fact they cannot even cover the primary materials that they already have until their testing date. Unfortunately, I am one of those guilty ones, tsk, tsk.

Hopefully when you’re able to finish your Roger material, let’s say you have 2 – 3 weeks left before your test, it’s best to supplement them with different review materials like NINJA, Gleim, etc.

    Good luck!

Great advice…I think it's all in the question. Because I was stressing over being able to do the mcq's and really not familiar with the material. I failed Reg 3x, far 2x, so I switched to bec since it was changing and still can't get a grip…my life has been semi busy too (no more excuses), but I can't waste anymore money on exam fees or review materials. I've said this other places as well so no I am not playing on the forum. some are asking the questions the way I am thinking them, but when I get the COURAGE to ask the question is all wrong so I keep getting the same answer: study. I am studying but maybe not efficiently.

    It begins with a 75

Thanks, Amor D! I really appreciate you taking out time to respond in detail for me. That's a really good idea and I will definitely incorporate it into the process.

As for the number of chapters in Roger FAR, there are 31. I've projected my study planner to allow 7 weeks for me to complete the material and 2-3 to review it. I had planned on supplementing with Ninja MCQ during the review phase. I just hope it will all come together in that time frame.
