Like Mcdonalds, I created my own secret sauce when I decided to study and it worked for each and every exam. I utilized Becker and I worked Full Time with 3 weeks of busy season every quarter. (1 exam every quarter based on my schedule (finished within 11 months)
1) Video Lectures/Notes > MC Problems (4 weeks) (entire chapter, then problems..also referenced book for questions I did not want to get wrong to keep positive vibes/scores, Flag questions that gave you trouble)
2) Now Read the book > MC Problems (2 Weeks) – Understand what you are reading is key. (Same process as step 1 (read chapter and then do problems))Crunch Time (All of nothing for last two weeks) – Every minute goes to the EXAM!
3) Go thru book skimming thru the highlighted/underlined materials > NOW SIMULATIONS (4 Days)
4) Do 25-50 problems per chapter (flagged questions). Do more if you are struggling.(2 days)
5) Review Review Review (Last fews days until you take exam). (more problems/memorize key concepts)Some tips:
-For the multiple choice, I also highlighted the portion of the book that related to the multiple choice question. I zeroed in which parts of the book were really important through all the highlighting in the book.
-Don’t count how many hours you studied (everyone is different so just try to understand the book). I studied in the morning b4 work, during lunch, and after work. I got home everyday at 8PM, ate dinner, watched tv and went to sleep at a reasonable time to get enough sleep. I partied and went to events but made sure to take it easy. Last two weeks, I ate dinner and studied until i was too tired (no partying or going out).
-I opted out of taking mock exams (did not want to stress myself out by a low score or feel too good by having a good score).
-While taking the exam the biggest tip is “RTFQ” (basically dont rush). 1 minute a question for MC / Rest for Simulations.
Hope this help you create a recipe for your secret sauce!
