My exam never got wordier and I passed FAR!

So I just got my FAR score back and passed with an 82! For about 2 weeks I had constant anxiety because everyone was talking about how their tests got wordier and mine never did. I was pretty sure I failed because of this but I just want to let you people know out there not to let the “difficulty” of the tests bother you. I let it bother me way too much and I got an 82! I also thought the sims were difficult! So good luck out there and don’t worry! 1/4 way to the CPA

I felt the same way about mine too. Questions didn't seem to get wordier or more difficult, but at the end of the day that's all objective based on your strengths/weaknesses and whoever else is taking the exam. I feel like the sims saved me from a failing score because I flagged at least 20 questions, but who knows how many of them were pretest.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

FAR and BEC gave me nothing but simple questions. Slight increases in difficulty but nothing too bad. I passed those.

AUD was the first time my later MCQ's seemed to get A LOT tougher. It got me nervous, but the difficulty also got me thinking I might be doing EVEN BETTER on Audit than my last two exams!

Nope. Scored a 73 in the end. Grrrrr.

Of course this all comes down to my understanding of the material. Maybe I FAR and BEC were giving me hard questions but I just knew the important material well. I can honestly say I'm still shaky on a lot of Audit concepts.

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)
    REG - August 27th, 2016

That's the downside about this forum. It's easy to read people's thoughts on THEIR exam and it takes over your thoughts.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

Same here for REG. I was surprised by the kinds of MCQs I was getting. Nothing overly wordy or calculation heavy. There were some calculations, but nothing crazy. I try not to get worked up over the difficulty of the MCQs anymore, particularly because when I looked at the AICPA released questions for REG that fell under the difficult category, many of them were not overly wordy

    AUD- 71,79
    BEC- 72,77
    FAR- 83
    REG- 63,71,83

    DONE!

I’m thinking, in the spirit of the AICPA outsmarting the candidates, maybe some of the shorter questions are considered more difficult and some of the wordier questions might be the easy ones. I think they go by how many candidates answer the questions correctly to determine the difficulty level. I thought I passed AUD both times I failed, and I thought I failed REG and AUD when I passed. FAR violated me so bad that I cannot remember any of the exam. Lol
