Hi! i recently took BEC, and while i think I did well on the written communication section, im not sure about the multiple choice. I know I had to make educated guesses or completely wild guesses on about 16-20 multiple choice questions.

Is it possible to pass BEC if I missed that many? Assuming I get some of those right, and some are pretest, and I still miss 15 out of 60, is 75% good on the MCQ?

Hi. was exam that difficult? I am due for my retake in March so I was curious? Did you get a lot of IT or ECON questions? It is hard to say given your facts. There are like 12-15 pretest questions so anything is possible. Did your WC relate to BEC or other random topics ?

Ben, I think only the CPA gods know if you passed or not. Hoping you passed!

I too would like to hear your thoughts on BEC exams as mine is looming. Thx.

I have to agree. the 1st time I took it i got a 71 but thought I passed. The 2nd time I took it I thought I failed very badly but got a 74. Anything is possible. But Both times I screwed up on WC because the topics were NOT BEC topics. They were who knows what. very unfair.

    Ben,

Guessing doesn't mean you failed the questions.

Anything is possible with these exams. Stay optimistic and hope for the best.

    Good luck

What I want to know is, for BEC – and all the exams actually, under the new format – are they still going to do pre-test questions? I think FAR is dropping down from 90 to only 66 questions. I think I read that for the 90 questions, a whopping 15 were pre-tested. I don't think there will be that many pre-tested on 66 questions. Then again, I don't even know why they do pre-tested questions anyway. I dare say that some people who have flunked (and repeatedly) with 73 or 74 would not have flunked if their pre-tested questions had counted.

Yes its possible!!!I got about that much wrong(I calculated too), and got an 80. I felt like BEC was really hard though, I didn't know if I passed or failed. I think if you thought the exam was hard that eould be a goid sign that you passed.
