Good Morning!

I am writing to inquire about others’ experience with submitting the CPA Exam application to the Maryland State Board of Accountancy and how long it took to approve/deny the application. I have submitted my application to the board about a month ago and the status changed about a week later noting that the application was “Filed-under review.” No status change since…

How long did it take for your application to be approved? I am just wondering if I am being too anxious about the whole thing.

IAMaspiringCPA no experience with Maryland but I am DC and had a similar situation- after about a month of “pending”- I called and found out that my application was being held up because of a document I did not know I needed to submit- after I submitted it I was approved within the week-

Applying under DC was a horrible experience with their website, lack of transparency and directions in regards to items needed and it almost made me want to go running to VA or MD- HOWEVER they were very efficient at processing once everything was in leading me to believe that if they can be efficient then MD can too… Sounds like your app is probably missing something so personally I would give them a call. Good luck!

I am MD candidate. I don't quite remember how long it took for me to get the approval but I got an approval email.

Also doesn't hurt to call them and check directly!
