MA Non-Reporting License Application

Does anybody else have experience with this? The process is a little confusing for me. While I met the 150-credit hour requirement, NASBA’s letter indicates that I need to create a new profile at mycpalicense.com. Is this for the Academic Evaluation only? Then I can go ahead and apply for the license through MA?

Also, along these lines, has anybody had any experience at any point in their career with someone asking them whether their license was a full license or non-reporting?

    Thank you!

I have a MA non reporting license and never had an issue its never come up what type of license I have.

You have a masters degree, correct? 150 credits without a graduate degree won't meet the non reporting license requirements.

Thank you for the info. Good to know it's never come up.

I do not have a master's degree, but I was informed that CPA supervisor sign-off with relevant experience will suffice. I also have a couple of co-workers who have gone through the same process with equivalent experience, so not too concerned with regards to that.

I was also assured by the licensing board that a letter signed by a practicing CPA for at least 3 years of non-public experience will suffice… Also in MA, and going for a non-reporting license….

I'm in Mass and am just finishing up the exam requirement of the license. I don't have the 150 hours yet but intent to obtain the extra credits within a year and half. Question: what is the requirement for “full reporting” license? I've come this FAR so I think I'd like to get the full reporting license.

Interesting because I worked in industry under a CPA as a staff accountant and was told it wouldn't count, please do update when you're licensed!

Bondvillain, full license is a year in public specifically in attest.

    I absolutely will, thanks @mla11692.

Would you happen to remember anything about the AECR process? I'm still a bit confused by that. I would think that if I met the 150 hours, I wouldn't have to do anything else with NASBA, and that AECR would be if I didn't meet the 150 hours initially but needed a reevaluation. Slightly confused as to why I'd need to pay them another $100…

good to know, I happened to have a masters so it really didn't matter to me, and that was 5 years ago so they may well have lightened up a bit since then.

@mla11692-I don't have a master's as I did an accounting certificate to fulfill my education requirements and I had to triple and double check I would be able to get licensed before applying to sit my exam:) Also, got my superiors' assurances in writing about providing a letter for my licensing:)

I have a Master's Degree in Public Administration supplemented with 33 undergraduate accounting credits and 24 undergraduate/graduate business elective credits.

I am unable to full-fill the NY experience requirements.

I believe I meet the non reporting requirement for a Mass CPA license.

Based on anyone else's experiences does it appear I meet the non reporting Mass CPA license requirement.

My only goal is to be a CPA in name and provide accounting and tax services. I am an EA.
