I am currently applying for the CPA license in NJ. I was wondering if any of you had to attach a letter of transmittal on company letter head along with the statement of experience. Can you someone let me know what you had to include in this letter??

Not sure–call your state board to confirm. A letter of transmittal is basically like the email you type when you have an attachment. It's a bit more formal with addresses and titles but should probably stay brief. When I look at the NJ Application, it looks like it's required. However, this is something each employer needs to complete. You can make it easier and clearer by providing a draft to your employers:
