So I found out I passed REG this morning, which was a little surprising, but in the best possible way. I have been studying for BEC for a couple weeks, but I don’t feel as prepared as normal. I take the exam on Saturday.

Do you think it is worth it to give it a shot and risk failing, or push it to April and ensure a passing score? Or at least ensure that I am prepared.

I am leaning toward going for it Saturday and hoping for the best. I am ready to end this 10 month long nightmare and hang out with my girlfriend and friends again. Maybe even take a vacation! I changed my background on my work computer to Lake Moraine in Banff two weeks ago as extra motivation.

    FAR - 8/16/15 - 82
    AUD -10/26/15 - 87
    REG -01/28/16 - 80
    BEC -02/27/16 - 74 (very sad), 4/16/16 - 77

Definitely take it at the end of the month and see what happens. If you do happen to end up not passing at least you'll be able to see your weak spots and go from there. Then you can schedule for the beginning of April and definitely pass then!

FAR: 80 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
REG: 87 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
BEC: 87 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
    AUD: 8/27/16

@2ndgoround and @Andyred04 thanks for the encouragement! That is a good point! If it goes poorly I'll be able to understand my weak areas a little better.

I never tend to do all the MC in CPA Excel, but I like to at least do sections that I feel weaker in. I have not done that this go round. I'm hoping to tackle the cost accounting computations at least – but I guess either way I'll go for it.

Go for it. If you don't pass, you can still retake it in April because it's a new testing window. You can do a lot of studying in 5 days – especially for BEC. Focus more on understanding general concepts than specifics. I'd also say don't spend too much time going over the written questions – so many of the points are gimme if you repeat what's being asked in your introduction and conclusion. I went from start to finish with BEC in about 3 weeks of solid studying and am attempting to do the same thing with FAR (crazy, I know). If you don't pass, you'll at least have a better idea of the exam and what you need to do to prepare for your retake in April. Good luck.

    REG - 82 11/14/15

@jdn9201 i see BEC is your highest score too! So that gives me some hope. The material is so weird for this section… there isn't a logical flow. At least not to me.

I wasn't planning on spending anytime with the written communication. I am going to look over a few examples Friday evening and see the structure and then plan on just winging it. I am encouraged that you can pass even if you don't do well on the WC though. I generally feel really good about all the MC and then falter with the sims. The exception to that was in Audit where I felt great about the SIMs and iffy about the MC.So being able to pass without considering the written part is encouraging to me.

Good luck with FAR – more power to you for cramming all that studying into such a small window. FAR was my first exam, and the one I spent the majority of the time studying for. I guess I wanted to be over prepared since I wasn't sure what to expect and had heard all of the horror stories. I probably spent close to three months studying before I ended up taking the exam. In hindsight I might have had to large of a study window. By the time I started reviewing the material I had forgotten a lot of the earlier stuff.

Take it. At the very least you'll have insight into the exam. Retakes are always a little easier knowing you have an idea of how it goes.

    F AR - 76
    B EC - 82
    A UD - 77 (lost credit)/Retake 2/25
    R EG - 80
