Just got in from writing Audit and here is my take….I used Becker self study, & the extra “final review” course. The first testlet of MCQ were fairly straight forward, not easy, just not difficult. The 2nd testlet were either very straight forward or very hard-had to flag about 10, the 3rd testlet was about the same as the 2nd or a tiny bit easier- had to flag about 7.

I would not consider the SIMS difficult, but rather, very long and tedious, in my opinion easier than I though. I did not spend a lot of practicing SIMS, which was good because not a single SIM in the exam was anything like the SIMS in the 2 Becker courses. Better to know the concepts. What you actually had to input was well explained/. For some I just got points for making a simple calculation. So one should leave enough time for answering the low hanging fruit. Others required flipping between the question and multiple pages of company info, again not hard, just tedious and requiring judgment.

Overall, I would say the MCQ of the actual exam were A LOT more difficult than the MCQ in Becker’s simulated final exam. All the simulated exam proved was that I was very proficient at the Becker material, even if I had never seen the question. I scored nearly perfect with Becker.

Also, there were several parts of the exam that Becker stressed I would *have to know* that are “heavily tested” that were no where to be found on the exam. And I mean 3 or 4 huge areas.

My suggestions for those who have yet to write Audit:

If you are having trouble passing, don’t do MCQ like a rapid fire machine gun, just learn the concepts. The questions on the exam were sometimes hidden, some times vague, and in phrases so that you would have to really read the question and know the material, and apply judgement- meaning there was much less of a difference between the top 3 choices. Whereas with Becker, they often made the right answer very obvious.

There were not as many double negatives or twisted-up questions like there was with Becker.

I would highly suggest doing practice questions, at least at the end, from another company. Becker sucks the life out of you, so not sure where one would find the time, but it would have helped me to try other than Becker questions.

I am pretty sure I passed. I feel a little less secure with the MCQ than I did with REG, but more secure with the SIMS.

I would live to hear from anyone else who wrote AUD today.

Took Audit last friday, I know what you mean about the MC questions not being at all like Becker questions. Granted, I did have some questions that felt like they came from Becker word for word but overall the questions were vague and I was not entirely sure what topic they were asking about sometimes.

I think my testlets were medium-hard-medium.

    BEC - 83 Oct 23
    FAR - 84 Jan 8
    AUD - 81 Feb 26
    REG - 84 May 23
