It’s all in the title. I’m just curious.

Absolutely. Some people don't know enough to know they didn't know what was going on. I think this is most common with AUD – usually people will get their highest or lowest score on AUD, and their prediction abilities for this one are terrible. It can happen with any section, though. I've seen lots of “just got back my score, got a xx, can't believe I failed, I aced that exam!” posts.

That happened to me with audit as well! I studied a week before (terrible idea) and took the audit exam and actually thought I did really well coming out of the exam. Got a 60! It was a humbling experience.

    I thought I nailed FAR the first time. Got a 56. I didn't know what I didn't know so I thought I knew it all. 🙂

^^^^^^^Same. I failed FAR when my dad died with a 59. Studied my butt off and thought I nailed it. Another 59. FAR has beaten me up and taken my lunch money a few times. lol

I walked out of BEC thinking I had nailed it- even told people “that seemed easy”… guess I was one of those that was too stupid to know I was stupid 😉

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

@mckan514w – yea but 71 is a lot better than a 59. I thought I was going to need therapy after that 2nd 59. lol

That was nearly my experience with Audit. I breezed through the first two testlets and had some issues with the third. Half the SIMS I knew rather well. I thought I passed. I took BEC a few days later and it was so much harder. Thought I did much worse on it, possibly failed it. I figured when I got my grade back I could even see a high grade in Audit….ended up with a 78. BEC 91 somehow…I learned that it is all based on the level of difficulty of the testlets. I happened to get an easier Audit exam, did worse than expected. My other two exams I took were much harder, and both I received a higher grade. I don't know what to think anymore. I guess if it gets ridiculously hard, that means you did well. If it's too easy, the opposite

Yes, when I took REG the first time I felt like I nailed it, but the SIMs were a little tough. I got a 74…retook it and felt like I failed, but got a 79.

It seems like there is little correlation between expected scores and actual scores. Just another crazy thing about this exam. They definitely like to play around with your brain, and it shows in the SIM questions particularly. I'm soon to take FAR but in looking at SIM review questions, they definitely like to ask things in ways different than anything you might encounter in your job or anywhere else. The CPA exam is *not* reality. It's just a maze. Some people get through the maze easily, and some don't.

I walked out of the exam 5 times every time unsure if I had passed it. I can't imagine walking out of that test feeling like I nailed it.

    BEC: 85
    REG: 74, 78
    AUD: 86
    FAR: October?
