I have taken the non traditional route. My bachelor’s degree is in finance, not accounting, but I have officially taken the correct amount of classes to sit for the exam. I havent taken any sections, but plan on passing all 4 before the 2017 Q2 changes. My application was officially accepted by the state.

My accounting grades are good, As and Bs. About a 3.4 GPA on accounting only classes. But my overall GPA is probably around 3.0. I went to school online at university of phoenix, so there are no recruiters or anything like that.

I have 2 years part time experience doing basic bookkeeping using Excel and Quickbooks Online for my dad’s construction management company.

The question is, at this point before the exams are passed, do I qualify for a job at a firm or company working full time? Do I stand a good chance just applying? Or will I have better luck when I have some/ all of the exams passed? What are reasoable career starting point options? And since I wasn’t recruited out of school, where do I look? I live in Los Angeles btw if that matters
